I want to thank you a lot, I haven't got the time to use your tutorial just yet... in a few days I have some exams... After that I will follow your tutorial and let you know (in this topic) what happened!

 

Once my weapon pack is complete, you will be credited ;-)

as your tutorial is only 2 mins, I did just follow it...

 

When I import the obj, I don't have the "12 BSLightingShaderProperty" next to the 0 BXFadeNode. It's still under the container (11 NiTriShape). Also, I don't have the "14 NimaterialProperty". So after importing the obj, I go automatically to the situation @1.33 in your tutorial. (Do I have a newer version of niskope?)

 

When I place my texture renamed as daedricsword and in the exact location... the old sword gets my texture, as soon as I replace the old sword with my new sword, the texture doesn't work anymore.

 

NUM UV SETS is greyed out for me, so I cannot change it to 4097

 

Is it possible to name the sword different in the end?

 

Wouldn't it be possible to just add the needed parts to the nif I send you?

Upload the whole thing (NIF+textures as DDS) and i will put it together...which weapon you want to replace? Daedric 2h sword/axe or what?

 

 

The axe please, you can find the nif and dds in the file I uploaded on page one.

 

If you still miss something, let me know.

Just some tipps for your future weapons:

 

- as mentioned before: less polygons (yours got 20.000 atm)

- smaller textures, yours is 2048 but such a simple texture would work with 1024 or 512 as well.

- you have to create 2 NIFs for each weapon. XXX.nif and 1stpersonXXX.nif

- you need a 3D model of the blade without handle saved as .obj and imported into the nif for the blood effects (this is the area where blood stains will appear), i used the whole model for it...works as well

- you need 3 texture map: 1xdds, 1x_n.dds (normal map for 3D effect). 1x_m.dds (specular map for shine/light reflection)

 

I made them for you, not perfect ones since i'm busy with some other requests but it works, you can create a normal map with the DDS plugin and the specular map is a greyscale image of your texture ... black = dark, white= bright, grey tones to adjust the level.

 

2nd object is used for the blood effect:

Just check out the NIFs i created for you, finally it should look similar.

 

Copy both NIF files to: ... Skyrim\data\meshes\weapons\daedric\

Copy all DDS files to: ... Skyrim\data\textures\weapons\daedric\

 

I replaced the Daedric 1h axe so just buy/craft it ingame or open the console (Key ^) and enter:

player.additem 000139B3 1
