Making a Weapon Merge Pack for Horizon and I Have a Question!

Hey everyone!

 

First thing is first I have received permission from all the authors of the weapons that I am adding to the pack!

 

My goal is to make a weapon merge pack where I can easily add/remove weapons without too much hassle. Afterwards I can balance them to fit with Zawinul's Horizon Overhaul.

 

What I have done is went into FO4Edit and did "Copy as New Record" on everything in the weapon mods except quests and locations. I then manually downloaded every mod in the merge and combined all the matching folders together(except scripts) and made a Main and a Texture .ba2 file.

 

The problem is that the weapons are invisible! What did I do wrong and is there a better way of going about this?

awesome! that sounds like new weapon packs/parts on the horizon.

(pun unintentional and duly noted as lame)

 

my own mod-fu is not stellar, though I'll share some reflections

until some more pro modders can arrive

 

 

 

I think that is similar to Carnage-Fiend's recent issues, though a little different,

because you might be through-porting.

 

If you're linking to a different game engine's call processes, even if its in the same unity framework and all,

it can be slightly different to how FO has it's paths setup.

ie - check the paths for your weapon components and their parents etc,

compare that to official and to other weapons parts packs and standalone weapons mods.

see if it resembles them, or if there is a difference.

you've got a base instance, and you've got your main and texture ba2's in the right place.

 

I think that is why your custom mod is not visible.

you'll have to make sure it is pathing correctly to your texture location.

your item and texture are there,

but the game is using a different game's pathing, to look it up where it isn't able to find it.

Thank you! So I looked in the CK and compared the Regular Mauser Pistol mod with my Merge Pack and my pack and I went into object template and none of the templates are made. I made the basic template and I could see the gun in the CK window. but it is still invisible in game. I then went to a workbench and I couldn't select the mauser. So it looks like I need to remake every template for every weapon and then reassign all the modifications to the workbench. I will try it for I gun and see if it works.
