numinas
Hi there So, i've just reinstalled my skyrim from scratch. i came to about 180-250 frames in the open field. which made me quite happy, well, after all my specs aren't that bad. here are they: GPU: GTX 1070 (drivers up to date)RAM: 16GBCPU: i7-4770K (ok, i guess thats a bit old, but not that bad) and then i moved on to install RealVision ENB, ofcourse i knew i will loose some frames but.... i've found myself with stunning 40-50 fps... now, i haven't any other mods installed, and i installed the ENB by the book (all the .ini settings are correct and i installed the files with the RV_launcher aswell as activated the mod with NMM) so i guess my installement is correct. my Antialiasing is set 0 aswell as that filter thingy. so. my question is, is losing around 150 FPS normal? (the enb works great, only the massive frame loss is bothering me)or did i do something wrong? maybe i am missing something? i would be glad for help, since i plan to install some more mods which will eat some frames. thank you very much for your time Greetings Numinas
CharrGazgre
ENB is pretty heavy to run on your computer. Try using performance ENB option. For me, my computer can run Skyrim on 4k. 100fps+ without ENB. If ENB installed,. I only run 4k skyrim 20-30fps.
jones177
Hi I used RealVision when I played the old Skyrim with a GTX 980 ti at 1440 resolution & averaged 60fps.To achieve this I had to switch off depth of field. Skyrim & Skyrim SE play just fine in the 40s & 50s. That is what my GTX 980 ti was doing when I upgraded to a 3440 X 1440 monitor. I bought a GTX 1080 to get back up to 60fps. The GTX 980 ti could play the game a lot smoother at the lower frame rates than the 1080 could at higher frame rates so for that game it was a bit of a waste. Unless you are getting stutter I recommend that you switch off the frame counter(hard to do) & enjoy the game. Later

Later now look at that!!! i am back at 130 fps, thank you very much sir. i deactivated the depht of field and run the performance version. optical changes are not really visible for me. exept for DoF obviously. :Pi am super happy, thank you :D
RatB0Y68
From what I've heard, you shouldn't have skyrim at greater than 60fps, beyond that the game engine gets weird. For some reason, the physics engine is tied to the framerate.
