Daedthr
Recently I've been doing some Skyrim modding, re-textures mostly. I hope at some time to release these mods (however bad they may be). The problem is I'm not sure how to add my re-texture to the game without replaceing all of the original items textures with my own. Specifically I am making a re-texture of the Thalmor Robes, replacing black with white, adding better gold embroidery and better patterns etc. However I don't want every Thalmor Elf in the game wearing this re-textured robe as I hope to make the robes much more powerful than normal Thalmor robes while providing the player a challenge in getting them. I am aware that when the Creation Kit is released it will probably be very easy to do this, I was wondering however if there was a way to make a new item for the game using the Thalmor Robe mesh but with my texture. Thanks in adavance to all who try to help, and I hope the Creation Kit comes out soon. Daedthr
ghosu
This would need a standalone robe then instead of a simple texture replacer...so in fact a copy of the original robe nif, changing the texturepaths to your new textures and make it standalone as a plugin esp using SkyEdit. Nifskope tutorials can be found on youtube or the tutorial sticky thread in mod talk:http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/522532-skyrim-tutorials/ Working tutorial for SkyEdit:http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/524677-stand-alone-weapons-using-skyedit/page__p__4274664__fromsearch__1#entry4274664 I guess it would take a minute to copy the nif and change the texture path and another 5-10min using SkyEdit. huntsman2310
Honestly I'd rather wait for the CK, it won't be long now, and it will make the process infinitely smoother.
