RogueDemonKing
For those of you experiencing CTDs, make a backup of all instances of "Skyrim.ini" and "SkyrimPerfs.ini", then delete them from their location (make sure you make a backup, because some save files may no longer work) Then launch skyrim using the launcher, it will show the detecting hardware popup and set the skyrim properties to default. After this, i was able to access areas i was no longer able to access, but using a slightly older save, because the last save no longer worked for some reason. (after using the launcher check if mods are still activated, if not reactivate them to avoid loosing items in-game) After that i haven't experienced a CTD on two locations where i was always having a CTD. I'm still unsure about this, so do this at your own risk, because as I said, some save files may stop working. If you try this and it works, please post here. if it doesn't work, post here anyway so as to see if it is really working or not. I'm still testing it with other CTD locations atm. RogueDemonKing
I did this on my friends PC and it worked too. So it apparently may be a partial fix. It will not stop all crashes but it does stop most of them.
RogueDemonKing
This combined with the last update fixed all CTDs :D
gsmanners
The only thing this "fixes" in my game is that I suddenly have to put up with Actor Fade at 3. This, in spite of the fact that everything is set to Medium (which, on my system, slows everything to a crawl). Maybe I just have a really crappy computer.
RogueDemonKing
You should be able to adjust that in the advanced section in the launcher options. Also, if the savedata has some corrupted part (as with my exiting jorvaskr data, which always results in CTD) then that CTD cannot be fixed, unless there is a way to fix the savedata Edited February 5, 2012 by 92DemonKing
