Circuitous
"What sort of furnishings would you want/expect in a home built in the sewers?" Genuine question here. I'm working on My First House Mod® and I'm not entirely sure how to go about furnishing it. Here are links to some screenshots of the unfurnished version. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ First room, from the entrance. I see this as being the primary room - displays, some furniture, etc. First room, left. Maybe some bookcases nested into the walls? First room, right. First room from the other side. Hallway to the second room. Second room. I'm thinking this would be the primary living quarters, assuming room one is the display room. Second room from the other side. Entrance to third room. I'm thinking this would be a good bedroom/rest area. Third room. Yes, it's a cistern. The far wall has been changed to the same as the one on the right, due to clipping issues that I cannot explain. Third room from the floor. Third room looking at the back section. This is the wall that also replaced the wall opposite the door. I'm thinking this would be a good spot for dressers, things of that nature. Third room from inside the alcove. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ By request from my brother I'm keeping an unfurnished version like this available so that people using the furniture store mods can move their own stuff in, but for people like me who are too darn lazy to go about moving magical hammers, I want to spruce this puppy up and make it presentable-like. Obvious accouterments include rugs, tapestries, etc. Obviously gonna need some chairs, book cases, display stands, etc. But are there any specifics you'd like to see in such a place? What do you feel it's missing? How would you lay it out? Help me make this not suck. Any feedback is appreciated, even the really pointless, sarcastic kind. Circuitous
They dig the subterranean feel.Their best friends are rats. They don't like the sun. They need a place to hideout that people aren't likely to find. They like "earthy" smells. They can play their music as loud as they want and no one's gonna complain. They are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or Senior Mutant Ninja Rats.'Cuz this place looks cool and it's not all dirty and stuff.Other than that... I dunno, they're nuts?
bben46
Definitely some rugs. Those stone floors have got to be cold. Then some tapestries on the walls to cover up the worst water stains. Small statues for the corner niches. A bigger statue for the niche at the top of the stairs that don't go anywhere - or a secret door. The cistern might make a good fishpond or bath. But you definitely need to do something with those exposed drain pipes halfway up the walls, I can't decide what though. Possibly a home for a pet rat? A few bats for atmosphere? A stack of chests somewhere for storage, a wine rack and eating area (for a vampire, the bedroom is the kitchen) Throw some furniture in there and shuffle it around until you find a combination you like. hoots7
1st I would defiantly hang tapestries to cover up the sewer holes. Then have a place to grow things like mushrooms, Nirnroots & other things that don’t require sunlight.

Pet slaughterfish... now there's an idea I hadn't considered. The pet rat thing has been done, but it's still a possibility. Where would the secret door go, though? Something to consider if the mod ever gets bigger, I suppose. As for the storage, I use QuickStore, so I'd like to set up a tower or rack of nine chests to correspond to the nine QS boxes, maybe with appropriate labels too. Would be neat, I think. 1st I would defiantly hang tapestries to cover up the sewer holes. Then have a place to grow things like mushrooms, Nirnroots & other things that don’t require sunlight. Now THAT is a good idea! Thanks much! Now on to more practical concerns... where should I put the dang place? :wallbash:

Circuitous
I've gone with the almost-too-typical furnishing standard of "display cases everywhere." Well, at least in the first room. Just entered. The Display Zone. Lookit, statues! You can set stuff on these pedestals, OR display mannequins on them. Your pick. Looking into the second room. The combination study/library/alchemy lab/shelving unit. My biggest concern at the moment is the carpeting. I scaled up the rugs so that I didn't have to have like eight or ten of them per room, but now they're pretty dang blurry. Do you suppose that's enough of a bother to try and work around, or is it not a big deal? As for location location location, I've set it in Anvil. Right in front of the main gate. It sounds stupid, and it is, but it gave me an excuse to give a silly write-up by way of an in-game letter. You can actually see the letter in the first shot. Reading it does two things: explains the nature of the abode, and teaches you a teleport spell you can use to get back to the home easily. Hax, I know, but it's fun. madman132
Are you making a house for the champion of Cyrodiil? He/She could be a Vampire, but would be ric enough to afford rebuidling a Cave somewhere...The Smell in a Sewer is irritating at least. How Vampires, who supposely have enhanced Senses can stand this is beyond me. If i was a Vampire, i would revamp a Cave. Wont smell so badly :D I would force some poor Mages to build a secret Portal to the Warerfront district (before i suck his Blood) so i may drain Puny Ancus a bit whenever i see fit :D
