I am about to spam the crap out of this. Armies of Mages? NO. Never. All mages feel superior to everybody else, especially when they know they are not. Mages would never band together to form regiments, even battalions, let alone whole bloody armies. Only the Imperial Legions could form cohesive 'units' of mages. And then they would be only auxiliary units. The orcs would never turn against the Imperials; they gave the orcs citizenship through service. Neither would the Nords, for that matter. They respect the Imperials because they were the only people to try and succeed at toppling the Nord Empire. Redguards would be most likely to split (of all the humans) but they are reckless, and know not the discipline of the Legions. Bretons would form those groups of battlefield sorcerers because, simply, they have nothing else to do. The greatest threat of all the races would come from the High Elves. Individual wizards could do vast amounts of damage to the Legions, and they field vast amounts of armed goblins. But I do not think the High Elves would turn against the Imperials; Imperial culture is based on that of the High Elves. Another respect issue. The Argonians and Khajiit could only survive to defend their homelands; they could not make any large-scale invasions into anyone else's lands. The same for the Wood Elves. They just could not afford to field the kind of forces it would take to even wear down the Legions. The Dunmer are too fractured, even with the Nerevarine (or Nectarine ;) ) having united them. There are still house feuds, there always will be house feuds. The only thing Dark Elves understand is the use of force, and they are simply not able to use that on others for lack of numbers and resources. Please listen to reason, all of you. I've been a strategist since I was 5, and been putting that to use in battle scenarios since 8. I am now only 19, but I learned from somebody that whipped Military Officers at war games on a regular basis. That's it. I think I'm done, now. Again. :bye:

The houses hlallu and telvani and the tribunal temple are all run by dunmer. The dunmer of the temple also have the power of the 3 gods vivec, almalexia, and sotha sil. the god and the ordinators (also high ordinators in the expansion of tribunal and even without them) would probably defeat the imperials. Even without the organization of the imperials the dunmer would have vast numbers and would overwhelm the imperial legion. There are far too many dunmer for the imperials to stop. Also the dumer have stronger people on their side with better equiptment.

Dude, come on! The Ordinators and High Ordinators, even the Bouyant Armigers, are all Elite organizations! You make it sound like every Dunmer who wanted to be an Ordie could be. And with the rise of the Nerevarine/Nectarine came the fall of the Tribunal, meaning they fall into myth and story. Meaning they no longer care what happens to the rest of 'humanity' (used very loosely here). Meaning that the only Ordie's still around are those who can't accept that their gods were, well, fake. It's still the Imp's. Any other takers? Please, no. Let's put this subject to rest. Nobody thinks logically about this. :sick:

mmhrmm, must I restate the purpose of the almight nectarine? The Nerevarine is MEANT for this! He is MEANT to lead the Dunmer in war, uniting the 5 houses (lest you forget Dres and Indoril). Not to mention he has the Daedra on his side. If he can't take over the whole of Tamriel, he could push all of the outlanders away from Morrowind. That is his purpose...

Not everyone has beaten the main quest and knows about the fall of the tribunal which you talked of Emperor_Ike. I have played through the game alot and have found the imperial legion to be weak compared to the tribunal temple. I have not done the main quest but cold probably easily beat it with lv 500 character. All that i have said was trough my experiences through the game. And for me i have seen many more dunmer than imps in the game. I have also encountered many powerful dunmer guard and necromancers and mages. I have seen very few powerful imps except for the head of the imperial legion and his guards, all the others were not that powerful.

You have seen more Dunmer than Imperials because you are playing on Vvardenfell, the homeland of the Dunmer. They make up 50% of the pop. The other half is a mix between other races. If you go to the Black Marsh or something, you would see more of other races.

 

And, after thinking awhile, I just realized how much the Dunmer have an advantage in the dark. They are freaking grey! They could easily lay in wait till night to lay traps, whereas orcs would just shine. Not to mention, if they need to regroup, they could easily retreat back to Vvadenfell. And without Air Support, it can be exceptionally hard to take an Island. Especially one filled with Stronghold etc. designed exactly for this purpose.

Maybe the legion is not as strong in Vvardenfell but in The imperial province they run it so they probably are way stronger than any ordinator.

I think that Nords who are excellent sailors would probably take control of the seas, thats just what I think I don't even know if they have any battleships.

 

Overall I think Imperials would win obviously because they already control alot.

But one place where Imperials would have a hard fight is the black marsh and Elsyweyr because the argonians and Khajjits would use Gorrila tactics and ambushes.
