Hello! im new to the forums, but i do have some background with modding. Ive been modding TES3: Morrowind for some time and if its anything like fallout new vegas' geck i have a feeling i will catch on easily. Anyhow, onto my question. I recently have been picking up on blender and modeling, and i think im on the correct track, im currently trying to make an m14 rifle. How many polygons should my model have? i heard there is a difference between high poly and low poly models affecting your game. I want a good looking weapon but i dont want to lag everywhere with it. so around how many should i have? how can i check how many im currently using?

 

-i dont have a pc that can run fallout nv..nor do i know how much one will cost as im currently using my school macbook pro. so just blender for now till then :P
