How do I apply CBBE presets?

So I want to use a CBBE NeverNude preset on my character. How do I use it? I found out for companions, I just name the file "piper.xml" or "cait.xml", etc. How do I do this for my own character? What do I name it? Thanks

Also... how do settlers and random NPCs work? Are they all just a default body shape? Can I upload a file for them all, or are they randomized by the game? Thanks! :)

All this information is in the CBBE and BodySlide mod descriptions. You should try reading them.

Install CBBE. Install BodySlide. Install the preset. Use BodySlide to generate the new body meshes with that preset selected.

You don't. All adult female characters use the same body mesh. Renaming preset .xmls does absolutely nothing. Piper/Cait/every other female NPC uses the same body as the female player character.

Again, all adult female characters use the same body, whether it's vanilla or modded. They are only 'randomised' by whatever weight Bethesda set them to on the weight triangle.
