groupoffriends
I hear they're developing a new version of Morrowind, using graphics and sound as good as Skyrim. I wonder if there will be different quests, or more developed quests. I hope so. The article I read has a video preview of it. It looks really good! See http://kotaku.com/5864968/skyrim-nah-lets-look-at-an-improved-morrowind-instead If it's released, it will probably give this group another kickstart. Rennn
What kind of system would you need to play Morrowind with Morrowind Overhaul 2.0 at a decent framerate? I run the Morrowind Overhaul 2.0 at 20-30 fps outdoors and 70+ fps indoors on my GTX 460. I use mid-high settings for it, with high distances, super-detail shadows, and all the 'bells and whistles' turned on, so you could definitely run it with a weaker card and still make it look good. The rest of my specs are in my sig. It's easier to run than Oblivion with texture packs, I think. It looks amazing; better than vanilla Skyrim in some regards (godrays, high detail shadows, static distance, grass density and animations) if you set it to at least high settings. (though my modded Skyrim with ENB destroys most other games in terms of visuals :) )I'm really surprised they got so much out of the engine. macole
I use the MGSO 2 and it does make Morrowind look good but I wouldn't call it a new version. It is a compilation or collection of existing mods neatly packaged together that save you some time and effort of downloading and installing them yourself. Read the install sheet carefully and you'll have little problem installing it. After a fresh install of Morrowind and MGSO you'll have a mod list of about 62 mods along wit a few usefull utilities e.g. MLOX, MGE XE and 4GB Patch. Install Wrye Mash and you're all set to go. If you have been playing and modding Morrrowind you may find that you already have installed many of the mods used to compile MGSO.

Yes, I probably shouldn't have called it a "new" version - it's a "new" version only in the sense that *everything* is upgraded to look better, and be better. I love it! I'm having quite a few problems at getting it to run, though, so I think I'll download the mods one at a time, and give up whichever mod is causing the problem.
