montky
@XXgotholicXXHowdy,there's a lot of projects looking for voice-over artists and the like.for voluntary basis projects, you could post even here in this thread.for other basis etc, hypothetically, you'd have to PM and talk elsewhere hehe. if you supply the audio as a community resource, it can lead to other spinoff projects too, such as AGI-XML chatbots etc. Usually, they'll do a casting call, where you can express interest and send sample material ofunmodified voices to. it's a great idea to show your fullest exegetical range -from way up high to way down low hehe.ie male voice range x,y,z and female voice range p,q,r etc.really get creative and do a batch of a few different approaches. do you 'do voices'? accents? speak multiple languages?can you sing, even a little tiny bit? one persons 'bad karaoke' is another persons karao-kay.you've got a unique normal speaking voice?that's a great chance for you to show what you can do.you could read a receipt or a menu, or rehearse lines from a play.whatever voice you go with, aim for something that you could consistently do if you were successful in the part.(Ie, no helium or argon hehe) usually though, if there's a casting call, they'll make available the audio or dialoguethey want you to sound like x,y,z and do p,q,r,s...so, they'll say"we envisage this character sounds like Thurl Ravenscroft, Nancy Cartright, or Uma Thurman etc..."they'll even tell you what pace, pentameter, tone, and inflection etc they want, usually.and if they dont, you get to play with all that.and usually, folks don't necessarily want you to supply pre-altered audio,ie, no sound effects as a general rule (though, rules were meant to be broken hehe). -----Alternately,if you want folks to come to you,you could make a thread in the lounge or FO4General,and share links to your vocal stuff -I've seen that work for folks, and that's how several folks got parts in projects that way too. I hope this helps somewhat, and I hope you'll give it a go,as voice over stuff can be fun to explore.
