Deleted3566767User
I recently just got a new computer, it has the Core I7 2600 and a GTX 560 2GB Superclocked Graphics card. I have installed quite a few mods, I have master updated with FO3 edit, I have no conflicts. I have changed the threads to dual core, etc. I am still crashing and freezing every 5 - 10 mins. I have tried every fix that I can find, is it my processor? What else can I do? I love Fallout 3 and I am waiting on the Creation Kit for Skyrim. GrindedStone
Windows 7 is probably the cause. Nothing major as XP/Vista/Win7 are all three compatable with Fallout 3, but from gamer to gamer computer systems including foundation an 3rd party software as well as the O/S build itself can vary greatly. The Gamebyro engine games can be very stable an allow for some crazy stuff to happen, but from system to system you see often it's more crashy than anything else. Just as the players computer system can vary so can each install of the game as well as each time you start a new game. It doesn't vary as greatly, but enough to notice. I reckon the best thing to do is to always start a new game before you try anything else, and for every problem you encounter. As far as tech support goes, we have been very limited on actual data from Vista an Win7 issues for the last two years running. There is plenty of information out there, but you might not find very much in our little circle. Run searches here on Nexus an you should also visit Windows Seven Forums There is a 64 page post on Fallout 3 there with many Windows 7 specialist gamers there. Bear in mind though Fallout 3 was never easy or well working right out of the box. Typically a gamer needs to read an comprehend a vast amount of data, certianly when using DLC or mods. As a first step you can download an patch the game to 1.7 even if it's a GOTY edition. You can download these at the official site or here on Nexus under Official downloads. I'm stuck now because I can't finish leveling up from 24 to 25. I've tried leveling up through console comands and the same thing.I'm not good enough to go through code to find and fix the problem so I would except any and all help. But as of this moment, my game just came to an end. :wallbash: Edited February 11, 2012 by NucaCola
Cloud345
Im having a somewhat similar problem. I have a Alienware mx14 with upgraded graphics card. I can play Skyrim and fallout new vegas fine but after about 5 min of play on fo3 It freezes. I have tryed no mods and deleting dlcs and even lowering graphics but it dosent work. As with most people i have windows7. As for the laptop its brand new. I got the game off steam If someone can find a fix i would be very happy as fo3 was one of my favorate games until the disk broke. I got it again on steam for sale. I really want to play. So if anyone has a solution I would be very happy. Oh, and thank you for your time.
