JMor1
I'm trying to prevent Pipe Weapons from spawning completely (I hate them, the reloads, the bullshit mechanism that supposedly fires rounds, the sheet metal pistol that can cycle at a good 700+ rpm for some f*#@ing reason, I don't like it, don't question any further please, and don't go and try to convince me otherwise) There aren't any mods that do this (at least to my knowledge)I tried deleting the Leveled List entries, but pipe weapons still seem to spawn on NPCs and in lockers. It might be, however, that one of my mods is interfering with this My Load order is in the attachment (a .txt file). It should total up to 214 active files. Any help/guidance would be appreciated. Robynsegg
Totally agree. The pipe weapons are unrealistic crap. Does anyone really think a weapon that rusted would even fire, let alone fire so you can hit an elephant at 10 paces! You'd be far more likely to simply blow your hand off. Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say.
StarMystyk
Same. I hate pipe weapons. I'd rather use my fists than any of those.I'd thought about modding them out of my game but usually end up finding something else I have to 'fix' so I haven't got around to even attempting it. Urtho
It's possible to do but you'd have to edit a LOT of the lists as pipe weapons are sort of the default low level weapon for many enemies in the game - any raider or raider sub-type (Rust Devils) or Supermutant will default to pipe weapons for starters with higher level versions getting higher end weaponry. Also, many of the "low level loot" type of containers also default to pipe weapons and ammo, things like basic desks, chests, toolboxes and so on. I have a personal mod I made that heavily edits some of these lists that reduces (but not eliminates) the pipe weapon frequency as while I don't hate them as much as those posting here seem to I do think Bethesda went too far with how often they appear in the game. The amount of .38 ammo you can get in this game is just insane given all the pipe weapon drops even before you factor in the tons more you'd get if you take a rank or two in Scrounger. Macrophobic
Yeah, instead of stopping NPC's from spawning with pipe weapons, I would rather got rid of them completely. But they cannot be just simply replaced with some decent guns, cause it's actualy one basic pipe pistol with a ton of randomized, levelled mods (and the more mods it has attached to, the more rare components you can get with the Scrapper perk). It would require adding many new weapons for different character levels (total overhaul, I would conflict with so many weapon mods). Makeshift weapons (guns and melee) were fun in FNV:DUST, where weapons were scarce and they required frequent repairs. In FO4 the only use is see for pipe guns is scrapping them in workshop mode to reduce the settlement size limit.

chillshock
Combining this (Defense Gun) with this (YonaTaku's DefenseGun replacer for pipe-guns) and waiting the days it takes for the game to respawn all those already spawned NPC (or starting a new playthrough) should do what you want. kraag
Pipe 'B' Gone will also remove pipe weapons from the game and replace them with normal weapons.
