elseagoat
Sorry for bump but I am trying to do the same to no avail. I want to make bound weapons look more "black" so I basically took the bound sword, took the gradshockrune texture and made it black and white, then changed the specular and emissive colors in the 1stpersondaedricsword nitrishape. The result is a slightly transparent, black and white daedric sword with no flames.
XCrimsonXXHazeX
You're saying that you want a green bound bow? Did we ever figure out how to do this? Trying to do something similar, but not successfully. I see wierd purple-blue shiny blobs in nifscope, which I am assuming is some sort of normal map. How can I make the model show up like it looks in game? Also, when I look at the emissive colors in nifskope, i am seeing values that have equal red, green, blue. What exactly does that mean? Wouldn't that be a greyscale color? Sorry for the late post. I did get this to work. What I did was open every NiTriShape, and their BSLightingShaderProperty thingys, and change every color to the one I want. That seemed to work. The bound flames have their own texture though. I don't remember exactly where they are located, one of Sunnie's posts should show you where.
btyop
Okay, so far I'm following all the step from this thread and I'm able to retext the bound flame into red.. mostly. Although I already check that I have retext the darkswirls and grandshockrune stuff and the weapon transparancy mesh, there's always a slight blue flame when the bound weapon appear and looping. any idea why? :wallbash: http://i47.tinypic.com/4hfas6.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/35jgrwz.jpg
XCrimsonXXHazeX
I had the same problem with my Bound Bow.It turns out that there was one BSShader that I missed. I changed that and it worked correctly.
btyop
now that's odd, I recheck it and i'm sure already replace all darkswirls.dds, gradshockrune.dds, darkswirlsinvert_n.dds, and vaportilenormal_n.dds :wallbash: all right, i'll try to recheck it some more. wish me luck :sweat:but in the case I'm still stuck, would you help me to inspect the .nif file that i worked on? :ohdear: Edited June 18, 2012 by btyop

XCrimsonXXHazeX
Sorry, I'm at a cabin without my laptop for a few days. But I'll check your file when I get home. Again, my problem was that I missed one color in an nif, I checked every node, and found a VERY obscure color node that I missed. When I changed that, everything worked fine. Try going to File>Save As, instead of File>Save. That's sometimes a problem for me, mainly when I work on .dds files in GIMP.
btyop
Thank you for your kindness :blush:Here's the link to the files I'm working on, I'm using Awelgriz mod as template for personal use. https://www.box.com/s/93a6fe0f8fb845bc8e51 As for .dds I usually use export -> as dds on gimp. Durai
Since this thread seems alive enough, I thought I'd ask my question here. From what I understand on this thread, you are simply doing a re-coloring for the weapons. However, I want to make a set of "Ethereal" items for the game (similar to how bound weapons look). Can anyone tell me how to go about making the flame mesh that surrounds the items? Is there a tutorial I can follow, or do most people just copy the NiTriShape files over to there custom meshes? Any help is appreciated (I've been trying to figure this out for a while now).
XCrimsonXXHazeX
I've wanted to do the same thing. I've tried copying the flames mesh and pasting on to whatever weapon I want, but that's a no-go. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get changes in nifSkope into Skyrim.
