The Dragon Scale Armor dilemma

As my skirmisher (1h warrior, light armor, archery, block, smithing) approached level 30, I decided it was time to powerlevel smithing to 100 and get that sexy Dragon Scale Armor a little bit early.

There are a few things I neglected to consider before hand... because I just don't think ahead.

Mostly that... I can make this armor set, but none of the pieces will have mods and I will be replacing a lot of things that have useful mods that you might even say I depend on

But I figured, NO PROBLEM, I'll just disenchant my items with mods, and enchant my dragon armor with those mods! Genius!

Then I disenchanted my gauntlets with a 25% 1h damage bonus and it became.... just over half of that at 13%

So now I don't know what to do. I'm a warrior... I have plenty of perks that need attention, now I have to add perks to ENCHANTING?

Those of you that have been in this situation... what did you do? Sacrifice several more points for enchanting? You lose A LOT when you put on gear without mods, and you WASTE it when you enchant them with weak ass enchants. Is there something I missed?

I guess I may just do that then. I want to enchant my own armor and I want to get the most out of things I disenchant.

Question now is... what perks in the enchanting tree would I have to increase if I just want to get the maximum of the items I disenchant. i.e. if I am disenchanting my 25% 1h dmg gaunts, I want the 25% 1h dmg enchantment, nothing less

What I like to do...

First half of the game, focus on smithing. All about smithing. During this time, all enchanted objects founds, I disenchant. But I never enchant anything yet. Keep all gem stones, too, that are charged.

Second half, I start to switch my focus to enchanting, nearly forgetting about smithing. I start with enchanting things to practice on and sell. Only when I feel like I have powerful enough gem stones and enough skill to really matter, do I start enchanting my best previously smithed weapons and armor.

But that's just me. I like to focus because otherwise it's a juggling act. I hate it when I've smithed an awesome weapon but gave it a not so great enchantment and feel embarrassed pawning it off.

Well it's all nice and stuff , but admit it - after getting those too skills up to 100 and getting the best stuff you can , the game becomes boring as you have nothing else to aim for or even need to loot anything..

I wish they reworked all the crafting in Skyrim :( for the sake of god remove those godlike items from crafting - the best stuff should be acquired during dungeon and boss hunting - it would add up 1000% thrill of exploring to the game.

Just my 132664.3 cents..

With 5/5 enchanter, 100 enchantment and +25% to skill enchantment perk, you get + 40% damage and an extra effect. 4 items can be enchanted with fortify one-h.

Thanks to all for the advice. It is a little sad to think that it won't take long and it won't take much to have the best items for my character's build and the anticipation and excitement that comes with of looting is starting to fade knowing that I won't be replacing my dragon armor (and there was 0 challenge in the path to getting the full dragon set, just a lot of iron daggers, therefore no real sense of accomplishment). Based on what most people are saying in some of the threads I've read, it seems inevitable that the game is going to be less fun in the second half of my leveling than the first... I grew up on Diablo and played some WoW last year and those games compared to this one in terms of loot and items, seems that the challenge and fun of improving your gear and working towards the best items was a little better with all the variety of items in those games. But I'm going to make an effort to stop thinking about the possibility of the game becoming less fun and I'll enjoy the game while it still is fun... After all, Skyrim has been good enough to make me forget about my other 19 games so far Edited by thmvp20
