Any Morrowind add-on to Skyrim groups out there?

So I'm looking at doing a mod project for Skyrim; specifically, I am looking at adding the border town of Soluthis just on the other side of the mountains. I know there used to be the group that did Silgard Tower, but the domain is defunct and my normally decent google-fu has failed me to see if they have moved. Specifically, I'm not looking for help - I'm looking to contribute.

I already know where to put the darn thing, including a small mountain pass that would let players access the town directly from Skyrim. There are a few things I think I can get away with retexturing, with a few new models to handle things such as Redoran style construction. I'm planning to make it as lore-friendly as possible, as well as update the Dunmer style to fit well with the updated artisitc style of Skyrim. Everything is still in the planning stages, and I definatly am going to post some concept art fairly soon.

While not set in Morrowind specifically, the main questlines in "Atvir Dres" all revolve around the idea of a Dunmer resistance movement operating out of the mountains that straddle the Skyrim/Morrowind border, and the Argonian occupation forces operating out of Morrowind proper, who are trying to put them down. Our only additions to the map will be on the western side of the mountains, though there are plans to incorporate some of the equipable and decorative items found in MW.

Interesting...

Ativar Dres: Cool concept, although what I've dug up on what bits and pieces of lore there is concerning the Argonian invasion implies that they got as far as southern Vvardenfel and as far northeast as the Telvani islands. I haven't seen anything that suggests that they made it to the northwestern border, either in game or in lore that I've looked up online. It wasn't exactly an angle that I was looking to follow up on. What I was considering was a classic Morrowind style "Build a City/Fortress" type quest.

Beyond Skyrim: Looks like Morrowind hasn't been gotten to yet. Promising - I just may try to get on the ground floor of the Morrowind branch. Everything I'm planning would work well with it.

The geographical extent of the Second Arnesian War is unclear, though the outcome was, as you say, the conquest of the southern mainland. For AD we're expanding upon that storyline by implying that rebel forces have long since withdrawn into Redoran and Indoril lands on the western mainland, and, to a lesser extent, eastern Skyrim. The Argonian armies have pursued them outside of their own territory, where they seek to root them out and destroy them.

This may or may not be consistent with your plans for Soluthis; however, if you see room for accommodation, I'd be happy to work with you to make the mods mutually compatible when the time comes.

I'm not against it, and I'm defenatly going to make any asset for a mod that I make avalable to anyone for any use. I'm fairly early in the planning stages - there isn't much beyond a basic theme and a general direction at this point. Heck, a bit of conflict with an Argonian detachment too far from home could prove to be one of several driving forces for why the player wants to build up the town.

Revamped Redoran Manor sketch; tossed in a bit of Mournhold and a touch of Skyrim. Morrowind's design was a little on the bland side.

That's some beautiful concept art. Very nicely planned out and executed.

Glad to hear that you're interested in sharing assets, I'd be more than happy to do the same. I'll friend you, if that's alright, so that we can keep in touch as things develop.

Have you developed the storyline behind this city yet? I found a "fanon" article relating to it after a quick google search, but it wasn't very detailed. I'm curious about its place in the lore.

@JanusForbeare: No problem! Never got how persnickety some modders get about sharing assets. I know everything I'm planning on making falls under "derivative works" portion of US copyright law (as a US citizen located in the US, it's the one I'm subject to), and most respectable folks give credit.

@theru: Huh. I don't know if it's the same people or not, but I suspect that the answer is "not all of them." Not sure I want to join a modding group with such a train wreck of a website, either. Thanks for pointing me towards Beyond Skyrim, though. Looks like they've only glanced at Morrowind, so there's plenty I can contribute.
