Carimya
Hey all! I´ve just experienced a problem:Steam was updating and at 99% avast blocked it and said: "A danger was found!". Has someone else experienced problems with antivirus blocking the latest steam-update?
Iv000
I never had problems with Avast and Skyrim. Have you updated your Avast virus database and Avast itself? You can always go to the "Virus Chest" in the "Maintenance" tab, and restore the file Avast has blocked. Though check first if it's a valid file. Carimya
THX for the answer. Well it´s the last two files of the steam-update. It´s the steam.exe and the steamerrorencounter.exe or so. Avast said that both of them were trojans O.o. Well I´ll try to restore them. EDIT: Works! Thanks for the tipp! Iv000
No problem, I'm glad I could help! It just happened to me.It's not Skyrim's fault, it's Avast thinking that SteamService.exe is Malware. I reported this as a false positive, and I just saw that other people using avast did that too.If this happens to someone else, just restore the SteamService.exe. It should be fixed in the next update. Edited February 5, 2012 by Iv000
