Enhanced Riding Mechanics

Not sure if this has been suggested already. Anyway, with the creation kit coming out I'm sure it wouldn't be too much of a problem for the talented modders to create enhanced riding mechanics such as:

1. Available first person view while mounted.

2. Mounted combat, i.e being able to use your bow and sword(s) while riding (hello Zelda!) and maybe magic as well. All of course available in both first and third person view.

3. Being able to interact with NPCs while mounted.

4. Perhaps a new faster state of riding on your horse, but which drains your horse's stamina (or is it fatigue?) even faster to avoid making it too OP. With an all new animations for it, obviously.

5. An easy way to turn on and off your horse's hostility towards enemies (not sure if there's already a way with console commands, but hell, why not throw it in there as well!) because if you ask me, it just looks stupid when you leave your horse and sneak into a bandit camp and suddenly it comes rushing like a beast towards them, lmao!

Oh, and I'm not entirely sure, but is it always the horse that takes damage while mounted? Because if so, the horse's health might have to be scaled down while mounted or entirely redirected to the player to avoid some kind of godmode while in mounted combat when for example riding Shadowmere.

So yeah, that's basically it, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one hoping for such a mod. It's a great game but Bethesda could and should have put a lot of more time into mounted mechanics. Opinions?

Another idea to implement, armour for your horse.

Sounds silly at first, but it doesn't look silly when you see all those fancy plated warhorses in movies. It isn't craftable but can be bought from horse dealers.

It has different tiers (E.G orcish... I think orcish would look baws  ) and can be tempered and possibly be enchanted...

Just an idea really...

I heard from Todd Howard in an interview before the game's release that he said he wouldn't be releasing Horse Armor again as dlc like Oblivion :P I don't actually remember if Oblivion's horse armor was functional as real armor though...

I think the biggest problem with the idea is the new animation that would be needed to have horse combat. But really, who wouldn't want to charge in to battle on their valiant steed tearing though hordes of enemies. And I especially would appreciate the 1st person view while on a horse.

Lmao, the horse rushing into combat has always pissed me off a bit. Like, you're a horse not a lion, horse. Stop horsing around. That's why I never took horses anywhere. My horses big ass would just get in the way of my swings.

As far as shooting or swinging from horseback goes, maybe a whole set of upperhalf animations for turning and fighting while the bottom half remains how it is, seated on the horse. When I talk about this, Red Dead Redemption comes to mind..I know the two are totally different, but it's the same idea.

I think the armor idea is great as well. I do however think there should be an more interesting way of obtaining it than simply just go to a vendor. Like, each vendor has it's own unique set of armor like you said, and you have to travel to the orc city for the orcs, maybe thalmor embassy for elven etc, but to acess these vendors I think each faction should have an unique quest or questline (if we're not aiming for the stars) that involves horses. It could involve stealing horses, like Frost's quest, a race, maybe even jousting (lmao that would be something!).

I realise this is quite a bit of work, just throwing ideas out there!
