Recorder quest problems

So... I got the whiterun record early, I saw it there and thought it would make the quest go faster, but now the quest is telling me to get it and since I got it before the objective told me to, it isn't registering that I have it and the quest is stuck. I can't load to a save before i got the record because u have too much progress since then to lose. Can anyone help?

I'm familiar with that problem - having done it myself. The record is rather easily found in Whiterun Market, isn't it!

 

The answer is, just keep hold of the early-acquired Record, and when the quest arrives to get it, simply stand by the

well

and console the Record into your inventory. The ghost scene should play out as normal after that.

Will have to admit with as many hours of game play for which I've got in Skyrim I still can't figure our which record you are talking about.

Hi Redneck. The mod "Recorder" (a voiced companion mod by Potasticpanda) has a small quest to find five documents she left lying around Skyrim. One is in Whiterun.

Well now might have to look that one there up and maybe even add it as I like mods that add quest and new areas. Thanks for the reply

It's a very small quest! Don't expect too much. The mod is 90% a companion rather than a quest.

I've had this same thing happen. But, I'm on XB1, so any suggestions for me?

Oh...you don't have access to a console if I recall rightly. Damn. At a guess, is there any way you can clear the game cache without damaging saves? Perhaps that might reset the quest... (BUT don't endanger your game please - it is just a thought).

 

Otherwise is it possible to give or sell the Whiterun Record to someone else, like Belethor...although the Record may be protected as a quest item.

 

With Potasticpanda off the scene for the moment, I've asked Voidwanderrer if he knows - he's part-covering for Panda at the moment. I'll get back to you.

 

 

And sorry, but VoidWanderrer (an Xboxer himself) tells me there is no way. You have to roll back to find the save before picking up the record and play from there.

Bad luck on that one. :sad:
