None of the textures are showing up and in place of them is nothing but shiny bright purple

I am getting really frustrated with you know who. They took away achievements for anyone modding their game and its seemingly impossible to mod my game at all! All my textures aren't working, CBBE, Vivid weathers, Apachiiskyhair, etc., I have no idea what i can do to SAFELY get my game to function properly. My Skyrim game has over 70 mods and I've never once had a single problem with it.

there's two different mods that will each fix this

but your issue is most likely covered in the thread at the top of this very forum oops wrong tech forum

covered in this thread https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3468450-link-to-nexus-wiki-how-to-use-nmm-for-fo4-mods/

The purple indicates that the textures aren't installed in the correct paths. If your using the latest version of NMM, then this is the cause of it (this last version is known to be buggy unfortunately)

Read the post in this thread by Damanding on how to correct this, by downloading a previous version of NMM that works.

If that's not the cause, then we'll need more information to be able to help you further. Mods installed, load order, that kind of thing. The more info the better.

ok when i run nmm it says i have no fallout 4 .ini and tells me to run the game to initialize the files before starting up nmm, I have no idea what that means, I've started up the game, ive checked that my mods or there(they are), and thats all I can do from in the game I think.

Start Fallout4 from Steam (not from NMM or any other mod manager), start a new game, play through until just after you exit Vault 111 (it's likely you can save before this, but it's good practice to keep a save right at this point; at least for testing mods out to make sure that they're working/installed correctly) then save your game, and exit Fallout4. Your Fallout4.ini should be there now, in your documents/my games/fallout4 folder, alongside your Fallout4Custom.ini, your Fallout4Prefs.ini and your saves.

I'd suggest you always make a backup of the vanilla .ini files somewhere, in case you ever need to revert back to it.
