Saania
Okay, just what the heck is this? What could be causing this problem?? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v303/BloodWolfGurl/ScreenShot2.jpg Notice the dollar signs next to each word? Wtf? It happens everywhere, also, I can no longer see the value, weight, etc... from an item I'm about to pick up! And before anyone asks, yes I tried uninstalling every single mod I had and it still didn't fix this... I'd really rather not have to reinstall the game again, it takes more than an hour to install. Paxan_1
Hi, it seems something has broken your UI. Do you know which of the interface mods were installed? How do you uninstall them? I think something is left and mixes up your interface. Without knowing which interface mods you have used its hard to give another advice like a new installation :(. Sarah The only UI I use is SkyUI, I installed it through NMM and uninstalled it through the same program. It fixed nothing though :\
Paxan_1
The NMM should uninstall it correct, but to be sure there are no leftovers you should check the skyrim data folder. SkyUI creates some (like Data\Interface) and i would suggest to delete anything left in there manual.

I've resorted to reinstalling the game again :| I'd still like to know what exactly could be adding a $ in front of words like that...
dark47
OK - I tried SkyUI and decided to uninstall it and got the same thing. A friend was over lately and had his laptop with him with Skyrim on it, so I asked him if I could look at his directory structure. His Skyrim\date folder had an extra folder in it named Interface eith one file in it called Translate_English.txt. I copied that folder to my Skyrim\date folder and fired up Skyrim. $ gone and all normal. I hope this helps (and I hope this isn't a form of piracy - he, he) Edited February 7, 2012 by dark47

Your advice is good though, I'll try that next time! I hate reinstalling Skyrim, it takes soooo long!
luthienanarion
Validate your game files in Steam. You're supposed to have a file named Translate_ENGLISH.txt inthe Interface folder that tells the game what those strings are supposed to display. Keep a backup in the event that it gets replaced by a mod and then deleted when that mod is uninstalled.
