Inindo
I already disabled fallout 3 for ffdshow, set iNumHWThreads=2, disabled Games for Windows Live, and had the Fallout3.exe run with "Disable Desktop Composition" enabled. I sorted all my mods via BOSS and created a Merged patch with FO3 Edit. I have been able to pass by Grandma Sparkle's diner before, on my way to the Anchorage Memorial for the Wasteland Survival Guide Mirelurk quest. Then after clearing the Elementary School and Marigold Station, I go back and the game crashes when I try to enter the area. Fearing it might be a corrupted save, I reloaded from just before the Mirelurk quest, did the same thing, and I crash there AGAIN, and again it works fine the first time. Looking into conflicts in FO3 Edit, there are several "Wasteland" conflicts, but I don't see anything there that looks like its in that area (though honestly, I can't really tell.) There are also some Talon Company conflicts and the last time I played Talon Company Mercs first spawed in Wilhelm's Wharf. However, that time I was able to talk to the Merc and kill him just fine. Perhaps it was a different Merc that spawned? I'm not sure how that would cause an issue though, all that changed was "Karma". Any ideas? maboru
I never ran into this problem but I've never had much luck with the Unofficial Fallout 3 patch as it seems more geared to vanilla FO3 and causes too many mod conflicts for me. Try disabling the esm and all the esps and see if that makes any difference. I've also found that using Wrye Flash and making a Bashed Patch helps with stability. What DID work as it turned out was driving right up to where I would crash, fast traveling to Anchorage Memorial, then going the OTHER direction. If I did that the game doesn't crash. . . . Well, I guess as long as there's a workaround. I have no idea why this would happen though,
ESiah
I have been able to pass by Grandma Sparkle's diner before, on my way to the Anchorage Memorial for the Wasteland Survival Guide Mirelurk quest. I was crashing in that area today. Cleared my entire mod list and it was fine, so I knew it had to be a mod. Turned out that removing MMM 6.2 stopped the crash, sad to say. Not sure if it is just MMM or MMM's interaction with other mods (e.g., too many scripts running in total?), but removing MMM definitely stopped me from crashing when I approach the hut at Wilhelm's Wharf. I tried various reloads and it was not random that MMM caused a crash there.
