grauritter
What is the code for purging the NPC information cache, that in turn forces Oblivion to reload NPCs when you encounter them once again? This is that code that is useful for when you switch between NPC clothing/face mods; for reloading the NPCs and thus displaying the new data. Know what Im talking about?-Jason
wizardmirth
You probably mean purge cell buffer (pcb) since actors are considered objects.
Vagrant0
You probably mean purge cell buffer (pcb) since actors are considered objects. It should be noted that doing so may cause many unwanted effects throughout the game, and should not be used when any quests are active. A less dangerous option would be using "respawn" on the specific NPC you want to refresh, but this will only affect their inventory, and can still cause problems in certain situations. grauritter
It might have been the respawn command. Im not sure. There was one I had read somewhere last year that causes all objects, npcs, monsters, etc to reload (respawn?) and thus update any altered appearances, stats, inventory, etc. But it was a game-wide command, one that effected them all at once, not individually. I use PCD (purge cell buffer) a lot actually. Ive personally never had problems with it causing corruption of game content. I use it when my Frame Rate gets too lagged. I go inside a buiding and then use it though, never outside or even in a city. I will try it though now, to see if it also updates the appearances of the NPCs. Ill try both ethods. For the RESPAWN, do I just click on an NPC (like to talk) and then bring up the console and then type "respawn"? thanks to you both!-Jason
