rockjeter Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 (edited) So after a long time, I back to FO4.And I encounter a problem that I can Google a lot of same problem but no answer...Forest Grove Marsh bug. http://i.imgur.com/ir516kM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/lLS5gsD.jpg http://i.imgur.com/jWwrjbY.jpg How it happened and why is there, I have no clue. I already know this bug exist long long time ago. https://community.bethesda.net/thread/15126?start=0&tstart=0 https://community.bethesda.net/thread/13968?start=0&tstart=0 Pretty sure its not mod since I only use enb and weapon mod. Is there any fix yet or just "well screw it, go play skyrim" status? Edited April 16, 2017 by rockjeter
Greslin Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 (edited) First, don't ever assume that it can't be a weapon or other mod, just because it's a worldspace bug. Things are a thousand times better now than they used to be, but even still, there are a lot of "dirty" mod ESPs out there. These happen when the author is playing around with something in CK, forgets they made this change or other, and the change gets saved and released. We've all done it. Most experienced modders know to at least check their files in FO4Edit before releasing, to clean out unintended records. But it still happens often. Like I said, it was worse in the FO3/FNV days, because GECK (CK's predecessor) did a terrible job cleaning up deleted records, so it happened much more often. CK's not nearly as bad. But still, it could be happening. The first thing I would do is disable all your mods and load into the game in the clean vanilla state. If the glitch isn't there, then you know it's a mod doing it. If the glitch is there in vanilla, you more likely have a texture or even a system problem. But I'm willing to bet it won't be there. Then, selectively reenable your mods, the most mature and stable ones first. Keep going until the problem comes back. It takes a bit of work, but it will tell you without a doubt which one of the mods is causing the problem. Then go into FO4Edit and look for Worldspace edits that shouldn't be there. chucksteel Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 This is a Vanilla bug! I found that when working on my mod Beantown Interiors and thought I made a bad edit and spent hours trying to track it down. It turns out that there is a group of water tiles that in vanilla are slightly misaligned this can be easily fixed in the Ckit by moving them so they snap with the worldspace water.
chucksteel Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I made a quick fix for this issue Forest Grove Marsh Water Fix Hope you don't mind I used all of your issue screens because I didn't feel like doing a before and after shots.

If you see my post you will know it last almost 2 years and no one got a proper reply for fixing. It's not my first day deal with mod order, I did test it before then post here. But still thanks for friendly reminding.I made a quick fix for this issue Forest Grove Marsh Water Fix Hope you don't mind I used all of your issue screens because I didn't feel like doing a before and after shots. :mellow:GOD BLESS YOU, CHUCKSTEEL. YOU MAKE A WONDERFUL FIX.I can only test it after I back to my pc though. working on my notebook right now.
chucksteel Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I cleaned it, tested it last in my load order and it worked even with my mod Beantown Interiors. (which does edit Forest Grove marsh) It only edits four forms slightly adjusting them to snap into place. As I said this can be merged into other mods with FO4edit to save space in your LO it has no major edits. Also I'm happy to help! I first saw this myself and thought it was my fault, tried to fix it for hours only to realize it's a vanilla bug. :wallbash:
