Some of you are familiar with my FNV hat fix mod, a simple retagging of all headgear in FNV to be more in line with the models, what they would cover, and prevent balding with custom hairs.

 

I am currently patching together an armor/clothing fix mod that does the same thing for Skyrim. What this means is for example the bandages for the forarms in game by default are tagged as hand items. This means you can not wear gloves or gauntlets over them. What I've done is changed that tag to selection 60, an unspecified tag so that it can be used under any gloves gauntlets bracers, or other hand/forarm items.

 

I will be doing similar to all logical items in the CK (meaning I look at the actual item in use to see what it covers and how bulky it is.)

 

If anyone is working on any custom armor/rings/apparel mods and wishs to insure compatibility I am making the following notes public to try to coordinate between all of us modders.

 

selection 60 on item tagging I am using for any arm items that may be worn logically under any other arm area items as the above example indicates.

 

I would like to make it compatible with hair mods as best as possible, so if you are making a custom hair do try to remember to tag part of it is hair and any long pieces that would clip through a helmet or headgear as long hair, once a few mods are out with proper tagging ill be able to go back and modify each headpieces tagging to work in conjunction with you're excellent hair mods so that you can wear that fine hat and not look like a chemo patient under it.

 

Of course as I go along any other changes I will update here as well, if you are working on apparel/physical body/hair mods and wish to collaborate with myself and any other modders in the same general fields so as to allow the highest level of compatibility between all mods do by all means put a post on this thread with what information you need to place out there ahead of time.

 

Lets get the largest selection of cross compatible mods we can guys/gals!

added tag 59 for mouth objects (The gag needed a marker other than its standard circlet.)

 

Also keep in mind changes to a base item are automatically transferred over to all of its enchanted variants.
