Crashing west of Riverwood

I am level 40 and there is a frost troll waiting to kill me as I walk on the path, crashes every time even if I climb back down to riverwood.

What I was wearing at the time: Daedric Plate, Steel Plate Boots, Steel Plate, Helm, Steel Plate Gloves, Healing spell on both hands. Is there any way to get past this or mod it out? The crash restarts my computer.

a full reboot of your computer when you crash?

this crash is due to the load of a cell most likely. which could be caused by a modded enemy or other thing loaded in the call not working properly. it also could be a corrupt save.

 

to fully clear cell data

open the console (type ~) enter coc qasmoke

save to a new location

now either deactivate mods or just wait to clear the cell data (deactivate mods if you think it could be a messed up mod) take care in what you do disable to make sure you dont lose an item or have tons of items in a specific location lost

the time for waiting is minimum 11 days and to make sure all is cleared 31 days (press T and wait 24 hours 31 times)

save again with or without mods deactivated (the absolute cleanest way is to have disabled all mods when you first entered this area)

now open the console again (type ~) enter coc whiterun (you will be by honningbrew meadery and can run to riverwood or fast travel there to check if it still crashes.

 

another note is to make sure to always save to a new location not overwrite or using auto saves.

use either of these mods or both for saves

I am using 4 mods.

3 of them are reskins, I don't know if turning them off would be safe or not.

1 is Overlook Tower Mod.

 

My pc also has these specs:

Processor: Quad Core 2.8 GHZ

Card: ATI Radeon 6750

RAM: 6 GB

Max HardDrive Space: 750 GB

only mods you need to worry about are esps for the data clearing.

try the data clear steps and see if ti still crashes

It's still crashing, and it turns out that it has to do with the golden claw quest.

I'm now level 41 and it crashed when i was fighting the draugr boss.

My game has been crashing every time within one minute in the game since I downloaded the HD texture pack! So you're not alone mate.

Can outdated mods cause restart crashing?

i too am having the same problem. Also, it only seems to be a problem with my main character. The others seems unaffected.

 

I have also done a re-install, and followed the steps outlined above, but to no avail....any other thoughts on how to fix it?

I think it has to do with outdated mods since I was using mods. But no one will give me an answer.

I tried using a zelda mod and it crash restarted when i had to sneak past the bear in helgens keep.
