Importing 3d models

Typical method is to use the NIF plugin and export as Fallout 3, then modify the NIF with NifSkope.

Another method is to export as OBJ and use NifSkope to open a similar / existing NIF to load the OBJ and delete the existing model.

So I won't be able to use models I made for Oblivion as they were?

If not, and it's not too much trouble, do you have a link for importing 3ds max models into Skyrim?

The NIF files are different versions for each game. If you have an Oblivion NIF, you can probably use just NifSkope to copy/paste branches from the Oblivion NIF to a Skyrim NIF. Make sure you don't port anything into Skyrim that came with Oblivion....e.g. don't add an Oblivion Akavirii sword to Skyrim (and make it available for others to download)
