AJStoner
I’m guessing it can’t be done for some reason or it would have but WHY has no one imported the horse mechanics from Skyrim into New Vegas? Its seems obvious enough and the engine can obviously deal with it because it does so in the ES games.
KiCHo666
You can't just import mechanic from Skyrim to NV.The engine is different (upgraded really) and Bethesda has an access to the engine source code while modders do not.It may be possible, but it would require some heavy scripting and bypasses and, in the end, it still wouldn't look good as if it was in the game from the beginning. There are some significant differences in teh skeleton and nifs for mount critters in oblivion and I suspect skyrim has a similar setup. There are some mount specific nodes like ActorParent (where you ride/bone are connected to, EntryPoint (where you mount), and other aspects we don't see in FONV. I can't say with 100% certainty that FONV's engine wouldn't recognize these nodes, but I suspect if it did we'd already have mounts long ago. I did port over Illyism's mod to FONV, it's a scripted solution so it's problamatic, but I'v got a few different mounts under my profile, here is a quick vid; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-T8DAV6tZ0
