CTD when entering Solitude.

If I remove mods won't I have problems with my save not finding the now missing files?

I have an earlier save where the CTD won't happen but its 10hours ago and that's around a week's gaming to me, new game isn't an option as I'm 160hours in now.

Without spoilers, are there any important quests, including companions, dark brotherhood, thieves guild, mages guild in that part of solitude? From the main gate, past the windmill and as far as the bards college? I can fast travel to the blue palace ok and I can still enter the bards college from that side of the city.

I could just avoid half of solitude.

It's exactly like the problem I had with the official texture pack, I think it's linked to that.

Thanks.

there are several VERY important quests in castle Dour

if you ask me I think your best bet is to revert to the earlier save 10 hours before

Do you play on PC-System?

1) Before you start the game enable the papyrus logging.
You don't know how, use this http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=156299922
In case you are using ModOrginizer: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/2b8nh5/how_can_i_get_to_my_papyrus_log_if_im_using_mo/

2) Now start the game, load the last save game you have.
Wait for 30 sec ingame, do nothing.

3) now open the console with key ^

4) put in the command: DPU
press enter

5) put in the command: DPS
press enter

If you have still access to your console, press key ^ again to close it.

6) now press Esc and finish Skyrim!

7) go to the savegame folder of your Skyrim, and open the file "Papyrus.0.log"
https://levelskip.com/rpgs/How-to-find-the-cause-of-a-Skyrim-crash-which-mods-caused-it-and-how-to-resolve-it-using-Papyrus-logs-and-Windows-Grep

You should find the log file as follow:

Note: xxx is a shortcut for your windows account, <Your User Name>

German
Laufwerk:\ Dokumente und Einstellungen\ xxx \ Eigene Dateien\ My Games\ Skyrim\ Logs\ Script

English
drive:\ User\ xxx \My documents\ My Games\ Skyrim\ Logs\ Script
drive:\ Users\ xxx \ Documents\ My games\ Skyrim\ Logs\ Script

At least use [ spoiler ] without spaces inside the brackets [ /spoiler ] to put

the content of this papyrus logfile to Skyrim nexus forum

WRONG!

5 Campfire.esm
6 Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp - no mod should ever be above the unofficial patch except main game files and DLC's, it specifically states this on the description page for the patch -- BTW, this is a falsely marked ESM

7 SkyUI.esp
8 LessIntrusiveHUD.esp

9 HighResTexturePack01.esp - If i remember correctly 9-11 are falsely marked ESM's, so therefore no ESP's can physically be above these
10 HighResTexturePack02.esp - If i remember correctly 9-11 are falsely marked ESM's, so therefore no ESP's can physically be above these
11 HighResTexturePack03.esp - If i remember correctly 9-11 are falsely marked ESM's, so therefore no ESP's can physically be above these
12 Unofficial High Resolution Patch http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/31255/?

What I said about 9-11 MAY apply for 12 as well. Personally I don't use any of the files 9-12 but in helping other people I think I remember seeing them as being falsely marked ESM's

other than that the rest of what you said is sound advice :)

Darn it, I don't know how this went from being fixed to suddenly being un-fixed again. If I revert it could happen again and I still won't know why.

Are there main quests in Castle Dour ?

i think i just figured out what your problem is lol, and it's stupidly simple lol

Make sure cloud is turned off in steam. IE: Cloud has a tendency to reinstall any file you delete AND if you edit an INI, it will replace the INI with an original unedited one :P :P :P

I went into Steam, right clicked Skyrim and went to 'properties' and then 'updates' unchecked the Steam cloud box but the CTD still happens in Solitude.

Did I do everything right in Steam ?

Yes you did unfortunately Cloud has already done the damage, so like I said, either do a revert to 10 hours ago or start a new game are your only options

Dear gromulos,

have a look into Campire quickstart, "Load order":

http://skyrimsurvival.com/home/campfire/quickstart-guide/

https://github.com/chesko256/Campfire

It should answer your preview posting!

I don't see anything from either link that specifically states Campfire should be above the Unofficial patch. In fact I will copy and paste this so YOU can have a read, below

Unofficial High Resolution Patch - Fixes several bugs in the official Hi-Res DLC.

After installing the mods, the following general load order needs to be followed:

Skyrim.esm

Update.esm

Dawnguard.esm

Hearthfires.esm

Dragonborn.esm

Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp

[Your other ESM files]

HighResTexturePack01.esp

HighResTexturePack02.esp

HighResTexturePack03.esp

Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp

[The rest of your mods]

So where do you see Campfire in there? BELOW the unofficial patch just like Arthmoor the legendary patch author states, and believe me, Arthmoor knows FAR more than both you and I combined.

You have to realize that the unofficial patches are "essentially" a DLC like file. the patch is affecting the main skyrim.esm and ALL of the DLC's, so why would you want something interferring with that?

You can trust me or you believe in god.
https://loot.github.io/docs/help/Introduction-To-Load-Orders

There are a few hardcoded rules related to load order:
Master plugins always load before non-master plugins.

You asked me: "So where do you see Campfire in there? BELOW the unofficial patch just like Arthmoor the legendary patch author states.."
It doesn't matter, because the game loads always the esm-files firstly and after that the esp-files in ascending order.

And for sure I do not have anything to realize.
I know what I have done and I have collected enough experience with Skyrim!
