Nick1296 Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 I have the same problem after "initializing windows" it close down....how can i solve this?
TheMagicalCamel Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Go to games tab and go to tools where you get the creation kit from. Right click and open the properties and then verify the content. That should fix any problems, or at least it did for me.
Markmid Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) Most likely a corrupted file, do a fresh install. If that still doesn't work. Download the DLL File here and replace the current one.http://www.mediafire.com/?1l0a9tn53kvirt9 Back up your current one just in case. Edited May 11, 2012 by Markmid

Rastafariel Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Same problem, none of these solutions work for me =/. I guess I shall try reinstalling. Re-Install does not work. Verifying Cache does not work. Deleting dll's does not work... This problem needs to be addressed by Bethesda! Edited July 18, 2012 by Rastafariel

MTichenor Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I'm getting something similar. Creation Kit starts up, says "Initializing Facegen" and freezes. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and using the DLL that was posted. It still freezes. Any ideas?
derekbakerforlife Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 i had the SAME exact problem! i am pretty sure i fixed it though! its either one of two of this things, i'm not sure which one got it running. i will apologize in advance for my lack in detail, i was only winging it while trying to fix this, so i was not realling keeping track of everything i did. 1. right click creation kit.exe select troubleshoot compatibility, tinker with that until you get to a window that tells you the creation kit is incapable. there should be a fix option, or it automatically fixes it, once again sorry :P 2. here's somethings else i did while trying to fix this. open creation\properties\compatibility check off "run this program in compatibility mode for:" i selected windows 95 then tried opening the creation kit, but, nothing even popped up. so i changed the compatibility back to run for windows 7, and it opened right up. no more unknown reasons for it not working and crashing anymore!!!! that is the exact order i did it in, so if any of you try this and it works let me know which one did the trick goodluck!!! Omesean Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 (edited) I experienced this same problem a while ago. Sudden crashes at initializing windows, and no amount of verifying the integrity of the game cache could fix it. Re-installing couldn't fix it. The fix came from a rather unexpected angle - the firewall from my antivirus (a silly Dutch brand). I disabled the firewall, and voila! The creation kit started up like it normally should. It also allowed me to open two simultaneous screens in NifSkope as well.So try to disable your antivirus' firewall (temporarily, of course), or add an exception for the creation kit (although that didn't work for me, I had to install a new one). I don't know how or why my firewall did this, and I don't care to know either. All I can say is that it fixed it for me. Edited September 18, 2012 by Omesean
