Game Can't Connect

I've been trying to play skyrim for 2 days now.. And everytime I get "This game is currently unavailable, Please try again at another time"

I'm sorry but When I paid 60 bucks for this game.. I was kinda under the impression you could play it when you wanted to .. not when steam wants you too..

also downloaded the creation kit and it won't let me start it..

Just seems like with this game and steam . you spend more time trying to connect, fixing crap.. and messing with all its " bells and whistles" Then you can spend actually playing the game..

Anyone else having this issue? i'm not finding anything about it and I'm bout to just delete this crap from my hardrive and move on...

Edit: Also does this in Offline Mode

Did you try to swith steam to offline and block it's internet access with your firewall? That helped me when I had a similar problem, I had a message saying something like "You are not allowed to start this game" or "The game is currently unavailable" or some similar crap I need to deal with on a daily basis :wallbash:.

Question... I'm looking for the actual skryim.exe.. and now only see the CreationKit.exe in the file dir... I can't remember off hand if there was an actual skryim.exe before I installed the creation Kit... Is there ? where is it? Or did Creation Kit or one of the updates somehow replace it...

That happens to some people, I once couldn't find my Data folder, it just vanished into thin air. Though I could find it when searching the steamapps folder for "data". Try verifying integrity and then restart your comp, my data folder appeared after I did that (but then some other, less important things, disapeared).

Data File and save games are all there... But it looks like i'm missing some of the program files... I'm not finding any exe but the creation kit.. and well of course Steam and such.. BTW .. Steam Ads work just fine... pfft

Great... so does this mean i have ot reinstall... And then worry about this again everytime Steam feels it needs to get into my system and update my files..

So much for having an extra hour to play a game.. only to spend it trying to get the crap to work.. AGAIN...

Sorry for the ranting .. this is just BS i'm getting tired of..

Reinstall worked... Last update must of killed my files..

But I'll stay positive and just allow myself next time I want to play the game an extra 2 hours to get it working.. Silly of me not to have in the first place..

Edit.. I will say I'm diggin the new Creation Kit.. Now that its working... Glad to know they didn't try reinventing the wheel, and that its pretty much the Geck..

New Scripting process is a bid disturbing... but I'm sure it will evolve..

another huge issue of having lost the ability to install the game where we want to because of Steam.

in one fell swoop they reduced TES to the complete opposite of it once was.

freely accessible, modding and fixed by community, once we had the tools no more hassle

now we will be bombarded likely by steam with forced patches to both the ck and the game

we will not have community patches because the actual patches are inaccessible to directly download

and with the workshop the main priority with the patches will be to get the game to work full lock and key with steam

here's to hoping they lose money and it costs too much to keep it up and they leave us alone to go back to fixing all the broken things and not needing to ask steam if we can play.
