Piercing Flare Gun?

A modification to the flare gun so that the projectiles pierce the flesh/armor/metalshell of the target and then explodes. (because you know fallout 4 was already lacking odd violence).

 

So basically other then a better name the idea's some what straight forward. Perhaps a modification to the flare gun (allow it to become a rifle or stay a pistol) as this would be easier then adding in a new ammo type (least I think so, I'm a little new to this).

ERRM - Extended Railway Rifle Mod does this except with the Railway Rifle of course, one of the modifications to the Railway Rifle allows it to fire Explosive Time Delayed Rail Spikes.

Deadly Gunners of the Common Wealth (Its on Bethesda.net) includes a boss that carries a unique Flare Gun called Hand Cannon which fires the Gauss Rifle Projectile and uses 2mm EC for ammo instead of Flares

Alternatively again you can use

 

Custom Legendary Modification which includes a slew of effects that can convert any weapons projectile into a number of things from Seeking Missiles to Harpoons, these alterations however do not always change the ammo type of the weapon, so in this case your Flare Gun would be firing Gauss Rifle Projectiles but would still be using Flares for Ammo.
