The Raider CTD problem

Hello, i started this thread after this bug occured to me... again, but now i have some ways of tracking it, but no solutions were found whatsoever...

well, if you don't know what that is, it's a bug where you shoot some Raiders or specific npc's in a group, Your game gets an instant CTD. many people reported the bug but no fixed solution were found due to it being varied, Some tried uninstalling CBBE and "weapon Debris" at the launcher. but now i got one specific..

The last reply is about Combat Armor... and is the problem i have. Now i have a character with about 2h of gameplay, i completed Far Harbour and pretty much Killed many raiders and gunners ( usual gameplay) But when you get to level 25+ is where things gets interesting ( i mean bad ), because now you have variations in groups of enemies and they use a variety of equipement, my nemesis right now is a Raider WASTER. i'll explain

Explanation time

there's a group of raiders down the road, i sneak up on them, and start shooting, they start to drop, then a raider holding a Bat hit me in the head from my back, i turn around to shoot him and *BOOM*... CTD

i remembered that, that happened to me in the past ( the reason i stopped playing), then i reload and do the same thing.... here he comes, I quicksave then this is the process i came across:

Console "Kill"

he drops on the ground, i use "Showinventory" he got this ( Long Johns, Welding goggles, Leather armor ( chest), Combat Armor (LeftLeg), a Grey Bat, and a Frag grenade).

while he's dead i shoot him..... CTD

reload

#2 attempt

console kill:

loot everything.... normal

*** so something is related to equipment

try again

here he comes, but now i use Unequip while he is alive and shoot him

Console "unequipitem" everything... NORMAL ( the reason is because the bug is not related to the body, and is not the Actor, is the equipment he uses)

**** Its not related to weapons but his apparel

so... by logic i reload

While he is alive i Unequip the COMBAT ARMOR piece.... Normal

so that's why the last thread caught my attention.... i thought i solved, but then comes another Raider Waster, he's fully equipped in Combat armor ( the irony). i shoot him just for curiosity.... CTD

so i quicksave and use the same process... ( since he got more pieces of Combat armor and more references to test)

there's something about Raiders and Combat Armor Pieces on their Legs, because if someone has it equipped, it Crashes. And this happens at higher levels because of the leveled list that makes them better armored, BoS is not affected, and it only happens if someone shoot a Raider Npc, if the players shoots, CTD; Companion, CTD, allied faction shooting him, CTD; and it may happen without you noticing, specially if you are in the city, since there's a lot of firefight, if a bullet hits a raider with combat armor on the legs... CTD...............


does somebody knows a way of dealing with this? lol, i thought i was doing fine :sad:

Edit:: It is Indeed related to the Actor and their leveled list.. The Raider Waster with combat armor on the Legs give a CTD

normal Raider and Raider Survivalist, with combat Armor on the legs or other parts of the body, Normal!!!

Sounds like a job for FO4Edit. Right click on your load list and select "Check for Errors". Look for a message referring to an unresolved formID.

 

You likely have an LL with a bad form. Find where the armor piece is being defined, cut and paste the formID into the unresolved space. Run Check for Errors again. When you don't get any more error messages, you've got it fixed.

My solution was to delete half or almost all of the armor ... MAINLY the DLC armor ... which is located in the DATA / meshes folder (in this folder you will have folders with the name DLC, you enter these folders and delete the folders that have armor .. it just won't erase all the armor, just erase some that look good ... or f*#@ it and do it your way:>;) xD and honestly it was really worth it, I'm playing without closings
