KS Hairdos freezes my game

So this is my first bug report on a game with such a massive modding community. If I left out anything important, please point it out. Anyway, here's a little backstory.

 

My first encounter with this problem was when I arrived at Riverwood right after escaping Helgen, or almost rather since my game immediately froze on me as soon as I got close to it. (It occurred right after I passed the wolves on the hill.) So I decided to start from scratch and activate all my mods after I reached Riverwood so I could figure out what was causing it. But nothing happened so I assumed everything was fine. Then sometime later it happened again after I was on my way down from bleak falls barrow. This lead me to believe that something in Riverwood was triggering this. but after an excruciating long process of enabling and disabling mods for the second time, I finally figured out it was the KS Hairdos mod causing the freezes, and I found that pretty strange considering none of the NPCs are using these hairstyles at all. :confused:

 

I've tried about everything to my knowledge but haven't managed to fix this yet. I'd rather not resort to another hair mod either since there aren't that many for male characters to begin with, and this one happens to have some I really like. Has anyone run into this problem before? Or perhaps have an idea as how to fix this?

If your freezing is non-repetitive in location and variable in time frame, it may not be any one mod that is causing it. You may simply be experiencing a side-effect of applying more mods than your setup can handle.

 

Have you tested just the one mod in question on its own in a completely new game? If not, you may wish to do so. If by itself there is no freezing then that is a good indicator that your combination of mods is perhaps too much for your setup to handle.
