WAIT UNTIL DLC

That is a pretty extensive list. I wonder how much we could actually hope to see as an official add-on.

Well, I won't get my hopes up as Howard simply said, "I don't know".

I would be willing to pay for some of those features.

...

Hmmm DLC? maybe by mid year for the first one and by then we would have played those features for 2 monthes or more and better than what Beth would do anyway.

Not likely.

Ooo spears, I like that idea. I wouldn't mind seeing beth just doing a dlc pack that adds new gameplay stuff like this. New weapon types for example aren't exactly something that would be easy for a modder to do well, but the devs could make a really good weapon pack by adding functionality for things like flails or crossbows or polearms. That in of itself would be incredibly useful to modders. Mounted combat too. Rather than having to make something from scratch using workarounds and compromises, modders could just perfect a dev-created mounted combat system to their liking. I'd take mounted combat dlc over horse armor any day. In fact, that comparison between horse combat and horse armor perfectly illustrates how completely superior these ideas Todd mentioned are compared to what they were doing in '06.

Spears and flails? And what about halberds, crossbows and throwing weapons? Battle fans and whips would also be interesting...

Mounted combat is something Mount&Blade handles well. Hopefully, they have learned something from it and will implement some of the features. However, this also calls for horse armour and a better AI for the current suicidal horses.

What about them? Wouldn't halberds and spears basically be the same weapon type? Flails would be hysterically fun with skyrim's havok physics, and crossbows could be a time-saver since you don't need a new skill/perks for it. Battle fans and whips just don't strike me as being very... Viking. I just couldn't see them doing weird stuff like that, I think they'd stick to the nordic theme.

Spear and halberds are wielded in two different ways. (A spear is a stabbing weapon, a halberd is a slashing weapon.) A spear is also thrown which a halberd isn't.

Crossbows, if done correctly, would not be that timesaving, the draw time should be twice as long as for a regular bow.

Edit: @ Zalfis: DownLoadable Content. Stuff they add to the game long after release to make you go back to playing it. :)

I'd really like to see the following ideas (from the ones suggested)

- Werebear

- Finishing animations for ranged attacks

- Dragon mount flying

- Weapon pack (Spears, whips)

- Flying vampire lord

- Snow footprints

I don't really bother with the improved AI ones. I mean, rather something else than guards lighting up dark areas...
