Pre-orders are available now!! it grants access to all beta sessions, they just had a sneak peak today. Sadly I only got to play 20 minutes of it but the first beta is Friday so it doesn't matter. I have to say the combat is freaking amazing, I never had that much fun fighting a monster in a mmo setting. I highly recommend this to anyone that's looking for something different and still wants to play a mmo. Yes its a Korean mmo, but En Masse worked hard for years "westernizing" it.

Probably not....... they did add shorts the Elin race, that's about it. I don't understand how it bothers anyone to see some skin.

Being a fapfest is the game's major selling point. I've seen videos and then a stream of it. This will prply have no nudity but it is far from subtle about sexually. Not just the armor but the way the females do ANYTHING in this game is sexualized. The way they move, attack everything really. For example females will shake their ass while casting. No joke they will put their hands in the air and move their hips and shake it.

 

The stream I saw was this little cat girl wearing almost nothing and all the attacks try very hard to look sexy? I mean really wtf??? When the player used battle shouts the little cat girl would bend over and put her butt in the air so you could see her panties?!? Really! This game just goes over the top with it.

I've actualy refused to buy otherwise good games for being over-sex'ed. I don't really know why, but sexualised and sexualy attractive are two very diferent things for me. Feminine sexuality, from my masculine perspective, isn't about being tartily dressed a waving your ass around, it's something more... unusual. A nearly subliminal thing. You can't really describe it, but you know exactly what it is, it's one of those wierd things. Like music, I can't really describe what I like about the music I like, I can try, but it would just be a jumble of meaningless hyperboly. I know what I like when I see it, or hear it, and that's about it.

 

And for me sexy isn't running with only tiny metal plate on a string covering your genitals. Infact, that's actualy a major turn-off for me. I mean, do you really want to form a relationship with someone who's so... proclivitous(new word? :teehee: ) that they're trying to seduce literaly everyone and everything, including the enemy? Sexy's not about the revealing, it's about the covering up. A woman in a Burqa can be extremely sexy, wheres a woman in the most skimpy bikini ever created, can be so insexate(also a new word? :biggrin: ) as to make you want to run away.

 

And really, what's so sexy about a sexual predator anyway? she'd just use you and dump you if you're lucky, and where's the romance in not even getting to know someone before they move on to their next victim?

 

Probably the think I find most reppelant about Tera specificaly is literaly the entire character, animations, and poses are all focused on the woman's crotch. I mean, is that sexist, or sexist? I mean, leather leggings, jacket, that wouldn't be a bad outfit, but for some obsurd reason they removed the section over the crotch and replaced it with the smallest possible amour plate shaped like a large belt buckle, which gives the impression of her wearing only a belt over her genitals. The whole image is designed to draw attention and eyes to the crotch, it's unsubtle and mildy repulsive.

 

Finaly, note the anatomy on the given specimen. I don't know what it is about Korean games but they seem to have real problems with female anatomy. Deep Shadows had... well what wasn't wrong with that game? the female character's upper torso(lumbar vertibrae and above) by default was turned 35 degrees away from their lower body(pelvis, legs) on a horizontal access, this continued even when they moved, giving the sense of crippled mutants in bikinis, or perhaps two midget aliens standing piggyback, dressed as a bikini girl to spy on humans. Huxley's proportions were... funky to say the least, and Tera? size five pelvis and hips, size fifty upper legs. Creepeh! :sick:

It's almost a parody, in a way. Aside form the Sex Sells angle, I'm guessing there must be a lot of lonely Korean guys.

It's a pity, because the actual game looks rather pretty. I'm just not buying into something that looks like it's a step away from being a soft porno. Sex does sell, but in an MMO does it have any staying power? I certainly don't think so. Sexual/sensual content can only carry a game so far.
