Commander19
Just a quick question concerning liquid cooling. Last summer was extremely hot with 100F (37C) every day, which made my computer quite hot probably about 120F (48C) and I would constantly have to shut it off as I worry about my computer overheating and shortening the lifespan of my PC. Anyway, my question is, would it be worth it to buy this liquid cooling system, it is not necessarily just about the temperature factor, but my fans have been at a 75% speed rating since I've built it and to be honest, I'm tired of how noisy it can be especially if it's during an extremely hot day. Any advice/thoughts would be greatly appreciated. :D
hoofhearted4
it all depends on that fans you use. fans pushing through the rad can be just as noisy as any heatsink....for the, i would honestly stick with a good air heatsink like this..cheaper, just as, if not more, efficient. ive heard the sound on this thing is next to nothing, even on full blast....its just as good as the D14, which is regarded as the top heatsink on the market, and on all accounts..silent. i would rather get a D14 before a closed loop cooling system, even though it is pretty huge. if your case cant fit those heatsinks, then yea, theres no reason not to get the H80. its good. and its noise will all depend on the static pressure your fans have. Commander19
I did consider the Noctua NH-D14 and the NZXT Havik, I would have no problem fitting them in my case since I have this beast of a case, but that it is one one of the things, it is very bulky and I often times wonder - what if it were to fall the first place it would land, right on top of my graphics card. Th HAVIK looks somewhat promising, lightweight and I would say probably better than the stock heatsink/fan that comes with my processor. Although I'm still not entirely sure what I am going to do. hoofhearted4
Havik is just as good as the D14...benchmarks out there put it at like 1-2C hotter then the D14, even at high OCs. so yes, MUCH better then your stock fan. it wont fall. just make sure you secure it properly and youll be all set.....even if your moving your computer around it would hold tight......once you attach the heatsink, you can even hold the mobo by it. but even more, if your PC doesnt move, well then you deff dont have to worry about anything
