H4RDC0R3V1B3Z
You won't get 60 fps in any urban areas, unless you have a ridiculously-powerful set up (I'm talking thousands of pounds worth, real hardcore territory) and even then, it's not guaranteed. Hell, I've got a £3500 (only two-years-old) water-cooled gaming tower and still can't get it perfectly-smooth in Cambridge and/or Boston And get CTDs occasionally. You just have to suck it up, forget about all of that fps nonsense and just play. I spent over two weeks trying to get it "perfect" by tweaking settings, config, adding this and that mod, uninstalling this and that mod, faffing around, testing here and there. In the end, you're just wasting time you could be spending actually playing lol. You just simply can't achieve perfection, not with the engine and especially when modding on top as well. MightyZ0G
maybe it's because I grew up with 25fps TV but I don't see much benefit in running the game higher than 30fps.I know that humans are capable of seeing flashes of light that last less than a nano second, and if your monitor and rig are capable of a steady 120fps that's great and you will have a great experience but if your fps is fluctuating wildly between 20 and 60 as you move around, it might be worth trying 30fps and have the fps fluctuate between 25 and 30, which isn't as noticeable a drop. You can push and push but chances are, the average player's PC just isn't good enough for High/Ultra settings, consistent frames and distinct lack of stutter. Throw mods into that mix too and the chance become even lower. I'm guessing most people add at least 50-100+ mods, most of which are quite extensive overhauls and texture replacements, ENBs and the like. All are hungry and fighting for their share of processing power within the engine. The more you add, the more strain is being put on the engine. Voila. You get crashes. I settled for 40-50 in the end. The odd stutter and random CTD once or twice is a small price to pay for 200 mods, mostly Ultra/High settings, ENB and... playing the game. A thing you tend to forget when modding. Knowing when to call it a day and just get into a game proper, is a tough decision. I look through Nexus now and see another bunch of mods I want lol. I'm sat here with 252 active plugins and, touch wood, my game is pretty stable.but then I settle for 30fps and a resolution of 1366x768 and some graphic options, such as godrays, turned off. Crygreg
Mh, then I'll have to live with that. But ok, whyever, the game has stabilized a bit, so it isn't under 55 FPS in Cambridge Police Station.
H4RDC0R3V1B3Z
If you've done everything you can (lower settings, tweak settings, turn off certain mods, make sure your PC is powerful enough and set up to run the game efficiently) and it still dips in the urban areas, then there is nothing else you can do about it. The engine is incredibly-old and is being forced to do things it has trouble with. These issues have been rampant in Bethesda games for quite some time now. It's not you, it's them. After a while, you'll just get used to the bit of stutter from time-to-time and learn to ignore it.
