  1. Well, I'm done with Fallout 4 for good. Just about to fulfill my character's main goal of hearing Atom's call and then the games Companion AI breaks and I can't fix it. Avoiding things that cause crashes for hours and hours, only to have the f***ing game's AI break on me. It's the final nail in the coffin and I refuse to put up with this anymore. Good riddance, Fallout 4. You simply aren't worth my time anymore.
  2. Fallout breaks. I spend hours playing, avoiding everything that can cause major issues (such as settlements), only to have the Companion AI screw up completely and can't stop them from standing two inches away from me at all times, walking, running and stealth. I'm done. I'm done trying to fix everything and I'm done trying to play, because it will always break at some point. No matter what you do to try and alleviate the plethora of issues this game has, does it ever truly make any difference? You potentially fix one thing and another breaks anyway. It's madness. It always ends the same way. Me pissed off and feeling like I've wasted so many hours, so yeah that's uninstalled for the final time and I won't bother again. Time to play something that won't cause a controller fling lol.

  4. I've always thought it quite strange that every weapon you pick up is in perfect working condition without any need for refurbishment. The idea is fairly simple (at least from an idea point of view, but not sure of the technical side of things). Not utilising a repair system such as New Vegas, but adding "broken" junk weapons into the loot tables. Basic broken weapons beyond repair, that can be scrapped for resources or sold for a few caps. They could use the same models without modifying them to look broken. Classed as a junk item with varying resources when scrapped. I know you can scrap functional weapons, but finding the odd broken one in a container mixes it up a little. Some weapons have been in containers for decades, yet they still work perfectly. Finding the occasional buggered one makes sense. Too little, too much? Just wondering about thoughts and whether or not this is either interesting or possible to pull off. I can't make this myself sadly, as I have no PC but perhaps it sparks some interest for somebody else. =)
  5. I've been using CROSS Crit Gore-verhaul for nearly 100 hours and it's fantastic. It only works when a crit happens on biological enemies such as Deathclaws, humans and Super Mutants. You can change it via in-game holotape (or MCM on PC, I assume) so that the effect occurs on every death though. Definitely worth a download!
  6. If stealth is too easy, it's definitely worth trying out Search and Destroy. I'm loving it so far, makes the game far more realistic and dynamic, with groups noticing nearby gunfire and going to investigate (even if it isn't yours!).
  7. Just wondering if anyone here has found any decoration and/or building packs that have Raider themed bits and pieces. More than vanilla's paltry offering of a few spiky things and cages. Even more so, themed within the Nuka World factions. I would love to build a proper Pack settlement, all bright and crazy, random colours everywhere. But most of the building mods just add vanilla stuff, such as swimming pools and housing. Children of Atom styled things would also be welcomed, as I'm leaning towards feeling Atom's Embrace as time passes. I know, I'm on Xbox asking a PC forum. I just don't use Discord and have exhausted my search capabilities. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Well, it makes sense that the other enemies notice their friends wandering about looking for somebody. It would be weirder if they didn't.
  9. Yeah, it's doesn't necessarily fit but it makes a nice sound and overall, it's a great weapon (made even better by Weapons Overhaul Redux). Always weird development choices in Bethesda games. Surely the return of the Chinese Assault Rifle would have been a better fit? Considering it was in previous games and available in other parts of the US at the time. The occasional rifle could have made its way across the country. But yes, for now the problem isn't quite so annoying as with WO-R, I can simply reload the weapon with the same ammo, using an ammo swap and it resets the RoF. Thankfully. Still a pain, albeit less of one now.
  10. If you're not interested in standard quests, then Fallout 4-76 is probably a good shout. It removes pretty much everything and gives you freedom to do what you want without following the main quest line. As for references to Shaun, it's a hard thing to avoid if you're not using a complete overhaul such as 4-76 or some form of main quest removal, because it's necessary to progress through the story.
  11. The RoF bug is an automatic weapon (the Handmade Rifle, for instance) will randomly increase its Rate of Fire by a rather large amount, typically ending up in the 300s. This might sound like a good thing, but when your 90 RoF rifle fires, the sounds and animations are all screwy, not to mention it's very immersion-breaking (at least for me). "Like an automatic radium rifle, the handmade rifle with an automatic receiver will occasionally have a glitched high fire rate; i.e., with the powerful automatic receiver, the fire rate may be 113, or 374. [verified]" This has been a vanilla issue for as long as I can remember and happens across any mod weapons too. I recently experienced this problem with Wasteland Melody's Service Rifle. If you haven't experienced it, then I think you're very lucky, because it annoys me on a regular basis lol.
  12. Is this ever going to be fixed? It happens constantly and I'm getting sick of having to swap out receivers time and time again just to sort out this ancient bug that never got squashed (as with most Bethesda games).
  13. Ah, the snapping on the sides. I recall something about it being tricky to do and that's why SWG doesn't have that function. But my memory is spotty at best. It could well be possible now with people learning more ways to create mods. The sheet metal is indeed missing, but you could use Workshop Rearranged to place some metal and/or wood wall panels (not actual walls, but various panels within the mod for "repairing" holes in structures). It's not a perfect solution, but could perhaps give you something close to what you want while waiting.
  14. What details does SWG miss exactly? To me, they are a perfect replica of vanilla windmills, from what I can gather. Multiple styles, airplane and junk, all snapping. Just curious why they aren't good enough, I suppose lol.
  15. Yeah, it's frustrating. While I don't mind these mechanics being present, the lack of a toggle on/off option for certain things in games always annoys me lol. But there is an increasing amount of this hand holding in Bethesda games, as the years progress. Some of it due to the target audience being much younger than myself (as an example) and I think there are a lot of bad choices during development. But I digress, before I ramble off topic too much! Hopefully there is an answer, as you say. I'm trying out Anti Auto Aim on Beth.net, but it seems to work a little too random rather than constant. Shame you can't get a peek at the .ini lines used, to compare it with Disable Magnetism. The joys of being on console. Best of luck with your aiming lol.
  16. I'm on Xbox and don't have a PC (as previously mentioned, hence the request), so I can't test these things out for myself sadly. Otherwise I wouldn't need to ask about a port/upload to the Bethesda Xbox mods. This could be solely a console issue. I definitely experience this on the Xbox and it drives me a little crazy (as I have ADHD and find it hard to ignore these things). I've seen others mention it on various internet posts (think a quick Reddit search came up with a few results), so it's definitely a thing. I'm not alone in my madness, thankfully lol.
  17. Sorry, I did indeed miss out some information. My apologies. I'm playing Fallout 4. This post is in the Fallout 4 category or have I put it somewhere else like an idiot? It's not a scope I'm talking about, it's the aiming reticule on the HUD and the mechanics behind using it while aiming. But that part isn't important, it's the game mechanic of what happens when aiming at enemies which is the part I'm trying to explain. Even without using ADS, moving the aim stick left and right while tracking and leading enemies will slow the stick movement down as it nears or passes over an enemy. Essentially soft-locking or "magnetising" to the nearest enemy. It's similar to an auto-aim mechanic that most shooters have and is predominantly for console games (because companies assume we can't shoot using a controller, I guess?). Some people claim this never happens, but it has always happened for me when using a controller. Both on PC (back when I had one) and now Xbox. It has nothing to do with Perks or scopes, to clear that up. It's a built-in mechanic within the game itself, regulated by lines of code in an .ini file. There is a mod called Disable Magnetism here on Nexus, which shows exactly what I mean. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14329 I have asked there about this, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here too, as it's the request section of the forums. Does that make sense?
  18. Is anybody able to create or port a mod that does this to the Bethesda site for Xbox, please? That's if it's possible. It's purely .ini settings from what I can gather, so it appears to be fairly simple (famous last words, right?). I don't have a PC, so sadly I can't make this myself. In case people are wondering what I mean, console users suffer (or at least I do) from the reticle being "snapped" to objects and NPCs in the world. Once you see it, you won't unsee it. This is extremely annoying when aiming and enemies are moving around, because it causes you to miss shots. It's more of a hindrance than help, especially if enemies cross paths while you're using ADS. I would be so grateful and happy if 1) this is possible and 2) if some kind soul would do this. There is a function in G2M Workshop that allows you to set ownership of various furniture and objects (such as Power Armour, chairs, etc), but with my current setup I don't have enough space to install G2M. "Install G2M then" I know, but I don't need 50MB of stuff I won't use. Space is sacred on Xbox lol. I was wondering if anyone knows of a standalone mod that does this, please? I've tried searching all manner of words and phrases but have come up empty. So thought I would ask the masses.
  20. Is there a working mod that does this? I'm getting sick of the game forcing me to aim in certain directions while I'm tracking headshots.
  21. This only happens while in third person view. First person, I get smooth and buttery movement with absolutely zero stutter whatsoever. This was an issue the last time I played and I've tried all of the usual things. Lowering settings, changing Inspector this and that, adding bForceIgnoreSmoothness=1 to the ini. Nothing I have done makes a difference. Now, it's not a hardware issue (specs on my profile) and it's definitely not anything to do with having the settings too high, considering I can run the game on Ultra with all bells and whistles and have no issues. But only in first person. Now I like to switch between the two. Third while exploring/travelling, and first while fighting/building/looting and so on. Anybody ever find out how to stop this, please?
  22. Just wondering if there is anything that allows me to have two two-handed swords on my back, next to each other, like Geralt?
  23. In fact, if I can just silence or lower the volume of the flute, all will be fine. For some reason, the flute is always far too bloody loud compared to ALL other sounds in the game. Any time it triggers, I'm instantly-deafened by it. Yet changing the in-game volume slider affects everything else as well. Anyone know where the audio files for bard flute songs are? I could probably edit them myself with Audacity. Just can't find the buggers.
  24. I've had a look around, but can't find anything related to lowering the Bard's volume. Most results tend to bring up "Being a Bard" and sod all to do with anything I've asked Google (as per usual lately). Just wondering if there are mods that specifically target the Bard's song volume. I don't mind them playing, but more often than not, they completely drown-out any dialogue that I'm having with other NPCs. After so many hours of this, I've finally had enough.
