sopmac45
It is known that if a vampire scratch your skin or bite you, vampirism will be acquired by the dragon born. Skyrim now ask you to be cured by talking to Falion. I found this annoying. First of all, how many times I've been infected with vampirism even though I've not been touched at all by a vampire? Or, how many times you are wearing even a Dawnguard heavy armor and still you get infected by a vampire ? Several times, like last night, I was infected while casting my fire spells on a vampire that was not even close to me. This is ridiculous and it seems like the game wants you to get infected so you have to use Falion's ritual ( which it is so simple and stupid IMO ) to cure yourself. I do believe that this should be modified by a mod. There are several options that could be introduced : 1 - A potion that cure vampirism as soon as you drink it2 - A spell that cure vampirism as soon as you cast it3 - .. or if you get to acquire the Cure all Diseases necklace ( or you learn the enchantment and apply it to any of your cloth ), then you will not get vampirism at all. 4 - Last but not the least, there is a Cure Disease spell that you acquire thru Phenderix Magic. This spell is suppose to cure all diseases but it does not cure vampirism because I have tried it. So, the only three options available to avoid vampirism are : 1 - Get it and reload the last save and retry to do again what you were doing and have a different plan to face vampires ( it does work but again, what is the need to do this when there should be another option more simple and more effective than looking for Falion or reloading the last save ? )2 - Look for Falion and cure it ...3 - ... become a werewolf ( thru the Compannion quest ) and stay as such till Dawnguard is done. But, not everybody ( I am one of them ) wants to become a werewolf. I do believe that this mod should be kind of simple for a modern to create. Probably the best and simple option should be to have a potion that cures vampirism, a potion that you can create if you have the require alchemy perks obviously. I have even tried to a have a fire cloak and even the cloak from Dawnguard and still, in the past, I have acquire vampirism. It is simple ridiculous, especially when you are not in melee and still you get it. It is simple annoying.
sopmac45
I would like to add that there is a new mod ( added recently ) that makes vampires stronger and more dangerous than before. According to the owner, the vampires can teleport beside or behind you ( while being invisibles ) and attack you in melee. It is great to face smart, stronger and dangerous enemies because the game becomes more interesting, but at the same time, there should be an antidote for vampirism and that is why I do believe we should have a mod to overcome this disease. A vampire can scratch your skin, but hey, a vampire should not be able to scratch your skin if you are wearing for example, a full steel plate, like if they are slicing thru butter. It is ridiculous and completely contradict the protection that you should get if you wear a heavy armor. Also, for those who prefer a light armor, the possibility to get vampirism are still higher and that is why a simple potion to cure vampirism should be nice to have in our inventory. I do not believe this mod should so complex to be created and will introduce into Skyrim a simple and effective option to cure this disease as there are other potions to cure poison and other diseases. Why not to have one to cure vampirism ?
