Creation Kit Errors : custom NPCs Have dark heads !

OK I have no idea why this is happening , but every time I create a new NPC and place in world I get an error

TEXTURES: Could not queue texture 0x 247d78f

I hit the yes to all and it goes away , the NPC appears in world properly in the editor but if I go in game there head will always be dispropotionaly darker than the rest of the skin regardless of what I set it too, or what race I set it to. its not a lighting error either , can be standing midday and still dark headed. normal NPCs in game are not affected only new ones , however , trying to place a duplicate of an existing NPC will also result in the texture queue failure.

Current mods are

Bellas face mod

Arrowsmith

completeskyforge

im pretty sure its not a mod conflict as I disabled the texture and mesh folders in my data files as well as in the load order , and it still happens on just straight vanilla textures. I have verifyed the game cache on both the CK and the game , everything checks out .

if anyone has encountered this and has a work around or fix it would be greatly helpful

I was modifying an NPC as well and was having a similar issue, the Khajiit head reverts to grey regardless of what you have done to the rest of the body.

I saw somewhere to hit control F4 when you have selected the actor in the object window. It fixes it for me in the editor but didn't seem to help in game. Maybe this will help get people on the right track for solving this.

Another quick fix would be to open the console (ingame) and target your newly created NPC.

Then adjust its weight by typing "setnpcweight" followed by a space and whatever weight you want for your NPC.

* For max weight this would be 100. (ex "setnpcweight 100")

Your new NPC's facial skin should immediately revert to its proper default.

This should provide a quick view to how your character will look ingame, for later migration into an esm.

A more permanent solution can be found in the Actor Window:

In the lower right, under Template Data, select "Use Traits".

Then use the drop down selection (Actor Base) and pick an NPC who most closely resembles your intended actor.

This will make your new actor look exactly like the one you picked from the template data.

You should now be able to adjust your new NPC's AI Behaviors, Quests etc, as it only adopts the appearance of its base.

yep, having the same problem here too. At first, I thought it was something to do with the mods I was running. Hopefully we'll get this sorted...cause it just looks like poop.

Current work around: use armor with mask! lol

Anyone found solution for this? All the NPCs in game (whether its male or female), young or old all have dark heads than their body.

And add to that, there is a small space between the head and the body, sort of like the head is slightly floating around.

I don't know what would cause all NPC's in the game to have mismatched textures, unless you edited them each and messed something up. But if you are editing one or two NPC's in the CK then open up your mod with edited NPC and highlight them in the actor list, then press Control + F4. This will make a facegendata section in your skyrim data folder, which can be found in textures, characters, actors. Once you find it delete the whole folder. That should fix any individual NPC problems.

EDIT: If skyrim tells you there are errors just press ignore all, likewise if it says anything else about the textures click yes to all. But specifically for errors make sure you press ignore all.
