GPYRoader Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Hi.I want to uninstall Skyrim and reinstall it, because of some problems. Now I have a few questions: How do I uninstall it? Is there a uninstall.exe? After uninstalling, do I have to download the whole game through Steam or can I install it from the CD again? Can I resume playing from my old saves by making a backup now and then place them in the saves folder of the fresh install?
LadyMilla Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 1. Control Panel --> Programs and Features --> The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Right click on it, select Uninstall.2. You can force Steam to install the game from your DVD drive. See here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5357-FSQM-03823. Yes, you can. You saves are stored in My Documents/My Games/Skyrim/Saves. I haven't uninstalled the game yet, but usually when a game is uninstalled, it asks you if you want to delete your saves, or leave them alone. As a precaution, copy your saves to a different directory.
