RbtRvltin
Yeah, having the same problems... Is it just me, or does it seem like you can only add real dialogue through quests? :O Hey I think I figured it out! Go look under quests in the object window. What you're looking for should be under dialogue. :D ...I hope. Edited February 11, 2012 by RbtRvltin
Sunnie
Adding the NPC to the "PotentialFollowers" faction should automatically give the NPC the dialog option for telling them "Follow me, I need you".

McCarronXLD
I was trying to get this to work as well, and then I stumbled upon something (and for the record I was also using a Housecarl as a duplication for my custom follower). Go to the Relationships tab, right click and select New. Type in an ID of your choosing. Make sure the Parent NPC is your custom follower, and then go to Child NPC and select Player. Then go to Relationship Level and select Ally. Click OK and save. Tested in game and both following and marriage work. :) Hope that helped. nik0li
If you want to create a very basic follower, this is what you need to do: - Find an existing NPC that you want to 'copy' to tweak and make your own. I used one of the hirelings. - Right-click, Edit. Change the ID to what you want, then just hit Ok down at the bottom. It will prompt you about making a new form. Hit yes. You will now go back to the object window and find your new NPC in the list. Right-click, edit. - In the scripts box, click add and add the script 'CarryActorScript'. As I understand it this allows the NPC to have the carry option, like the housecarls do and whatnot. - In the Faction tab, you need to add the 'CurrentFollowerFaction', 'PotentialFollowerFaction', and 'PotentialMarriageFaction' (if you want them to be able to be married). CurrentFollowerFaction should have the rank set to -1, the others she be set to 0. - In the Relationship tab, right-click-> new. Type in an ID of your choosing. Make sure the Parent NPC is your custom follower, and then go to Child NPC and select Player. Then go to Relationship Level and select Ally. Click OK and save. This should give you a very basic follower that will have all the options they normally do.. follow me, wait here, i need you to do something, i need to trade with you, and we should part ways. They will have no opening dialogue from here, when you speak to them they should simply have the option of 'Follow me.'
