Wookie120
I really and truly hate that dang dog. He has busted more ambushes, knocked over items I have carefully placed and is sadly unkillable! Is there a way to manage that stupid worthless mutt any better?
Deleted2433418User
nope... that useless Chihuahua impersonator is designed by a person who don´t know dogs from jellybeans..I never use it.. even the most stupid of my Dogs, ever, has never been that idiotic and downright annoying.. Meihyr
I don't downright hate dogmeat but I don't really bother with animal companions in general. Not in Skyrim and not in Fallout.
Shaundi7
I too hate this dog. Why Fallout 4 forces us to get to know him is beyond me. Even if I ignore him I can't just kill him, because the game flags him as essential. Same goes for those settlers trapped inside the museum in Concord. I hate Preston Garvey for his do-gooder mentality and therefore the rest of his bunch of degenerates. I don't want to help an old woman high on drugs, a grease monkey, two bald and useless survivors and ... him! What do I get in return? Nothing but warm words and a job - working for them? No. He failed as a Minuteman and she should have died with his people. Same goes for Dogmeat. This mutt is marked for deletion as soon as he did his job sniffing Kellog out. Then it's Doomsday for those guys ...
Gruffydd
If you're tired of him knocking over your carefully placed objects, you might consider using OCDecorator. It lets you place static versions of various objects.
MightyZ0G
Why Fallout 4 forces us to get to know him is beyond me. because Fallout is partly based on the book/film "A Boy and His Dog"
Wookie120
I remember a line from A Boy and His Dog, " You have the cranial capacity of a canary/" Said the dog to the boy! Would OCDecorator keep the objects I place in a house from vanishing or resetting also?
dragonslayer2k12
I won't play fallout 3 or NV because of dogmeat I don't want to see animals die and then puppy replacements show up wtf? I don't think you can leave dogmeat at your player home in fallout 3 or nv can you? you can leave dogmeat at sanctuary in fallout 4 and it really sucks how he is involved in the main quest later on I hate that. Beth just can't make a game where you go off and do whatever the hell you want to do, oh no we have to do it their annoying crap way every time. Even worse than dogmeat that wounded dog encounter during the part of the main quest to follow dogmeat and he attacks the wounded dog wtf? Cringe worthy stuff WHY is it in there? Fkemman11
I didn't mind Dogmeat in the earlier game as he was sometimes handy to have for say getting around a master lock and such or finding alien blaster rnds when the ship crashes somewhere. For some reason all of the companions are worse in FO4. I recently went back to playing FNV partly to see the difference and it is a noticeable one. Companions in the old ones consistently keep the same distance and spacing so as not to crowd you. They still block you in doors but not as often it seems. The companion wheel in FNV was a good idea that should have been copied for FO4. In combat companions seem to be more effective at both not crossing right in front of you while you are firing and not giving you away in the first place while sneaking. Generally I would just say that ALL of the characters in both FNV and FO3 were better thought out and generally more helpful and interesting. dragonslayer2k12
I pick up maccreepy and give him a desert tan camo beowulf gun from skibs gun mods and some kewl combat armor he repays me by sneaking directly in front of me while I am sneaking and trying to snipe winlock and barnes and pals at the edge of their bridge outpost. I just watch through a scope in disbelief as he sneaks back and forth directly in front of me instead of staying off to the side and taking shots like he should be doing. Companion AI in F4 is just plain crap they can't fight they can't figure out there is a ghoul right in front of them until it hits them and they won't fight if you leave them waiting somewhere.
