arixxon
Hey guys, you think Prey (2017) will have any mods? Because I can't see anyone even started thinking about it. There is no word about if it will be (is) possible. Do you know anything related?
OberonFK
I've been thinking about it a ton...unfortunately I'm not a modder so it doesn't really matter that I have been. I really hope mods do come out for it; I would love to see community bug fixes, lifestyle changes, more quests, etc..
Ethreon
If Andromeda mods become possible (hint, they did), possibly someone will pickup on Prey as well.
wootwoots
if there is a unpaker, if the game take into consideration the files extracted ( like back in time for Crysis1 & 2 ) the modding is going to be fairly easy tho. I would love to see that happen, the weapon position really need to be fixed -_-"

MadeUpName92
I think the most needed in prey is the ability to correctly remap all the keybinds. EI: remap mouse3 (wheel click) to use and every time you try to use something the ability wheel opens. The documentation for the CryEngine is readily available. Here's the page about actionmapshttp://docs.cryengine.com/display/SDKDOC4/Setting+Up+Controls+and+Action+Maps Prey does have an "actionmap.xml" file located in \UserName\Saved Games\Arkane Studios\Prey\Profiles\defaultThis file is apparently loaded after the default to apply the changes a player has made by rebinding any of the default keys. If you look at it (with a xml viewer or notepad++) then go make a few changes to your keybinds in the game settings, then refresh or close and re-open the file, you should get an idea of how it works. (I don't know if this file exists before rebinding any keys via the ingame settings) If I could just figure out the exact name of the action (ability wheel) I could rebind it. I haven't guessed it yet. FYI - Backup a copy of the original actionmaps.xml before tinkering with it. One typo and it gets wiped when starting the game. Crystrex
In the original Prey Nexus posted a config file for low pc. http://www.nexusmods.com/prey/mods/65/? I hope in the future we can upload our works to Prey 2017 Nexus or just like that. As for me, to start a proper modding we need to unpack a game archives. Shaders, cutted content, change weapons abilities and enemies... it's very nice start. Found unpack tool: Prey (2017) pak decryption tool https://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=16241 GameData.pak has a lot of textures, game difficulty, levels, and more files in .xml format - CryXml. I think we can modify CryXml in CryEngine SDK . Edited May 23, 2017 by Crystrex

Crystrex
how it works ?1. Choose association PreyConvert.exe as program that opens .pak archives2. Take .zip archive and unpack via any packing program(7zip works)3. Enjoy unpacked archives.
