CptSupermrkt
I'm also experiencing the missing file paths thing. It doesn't disappear on "choose finale," but it always disappears on "choose file." I'm glad to hear this is being considered a bug, because even when I went to look at the default music, like Combat01, the finale was there but the file wasn't, and that was really confusing me. It sounds like we might save ourselves from pulling out our hair by waiting until there is a patch --- it definitely sounds like something is broken somewhere. I've done everything I can think of it and the game still crashes for me whenever it should begin my song. I even made an entirely new Music Type that contains my Music Track, then I went to my cell's info and selected it as that cell's Music Type. Then when I go to check the music type's "uses" (dependencies) info, it doesn't say that my cell is using it. But then when I go to my cell in-game, it insta-crashes. So at this point I've tried every load order possible, and within those possibilities I've tried every combination of putting my Music Track in an existing Music Type, a new Music Type, associating it with an existing cell, associating it with a new cell. I also tried the above combinations with varying options in the Music Type (like "cycle tracks." I don't think it's going to matter, but just in case, I'll throw down my general specs here:Core 2 Duo i7GeForce 470 GTXAsus motherboard, using onboard sound, no separate sound card.4 GB RAM I run the game at Ultra without a hitch. Maybe it has something to do with using onboard sound? Doesn't make sense, but after all the work I've put into testing this, I'm absolutely convinced that it's either a bug, OR something really bizarre and specific like using onboard sound versus a sound card. greenmachine8885
You have put your music mod as close to the top as you can, right? This is the only thing that has been reported to be successful so far. I intend to try it as soon as i get home, and see how it goes. Fingers crossed... zappeo
Hello, I hope this is the right topic to ask, I'm having an issue and looking for the solution on google i ended on this thread. I'm trying to add a .wav file to my mod which needs to be played everytime i hit somebody with my modded sword. The problem is that if I go to the 'music track' menu and add a new one and select 'single track', when I select my .wav file i get 'Invalid directory'. I've tried placing the file everywhere, \Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data, \Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\Sounds, the Skyrim folder in My Documents, the Skyrim's root folder, a custom folder inside Skyrim's Data folder ... nothing worked, still getting the 'Invalid Directory' error. In the first post you say If you created the music folder in the correct location the path should already be set to that folder, so navigate to the file and click ok. but which is the correct location? :DThis is giving me a bad headache :(
alasdairhurst
Wrong topic :D You should be looking at sound effects rather than music for what you are doing ;) This is for background tracks, sound effects is for things with activators like waterfalls, attacking with weapons, fires, spell casting etc... Kaboomx
Okay, i tried the tutorial, and all the other stuff you guys posted. It still didnt work :( I'm confused, i have a mod called "Enhanced Sountrack"HereThis mod adds lots of new soundtracks to Skyrim, and from the screenshot he posted, looks like he's using a different method, with .xwm file  Of course i tried turning that mod off in case it conflicted with my custom one.. but it still crashed :( Maybe the answer lies in this other mod, maybe we should ask the maker of this other mod how he did it?Anyway, i hope it helps! :) PS: First post ever for me yay! :D
