alasdairhurst
I'm confused, i have a mod called "Enhanced Sountrack"HereThis mod adds lots of new soundtracks to Skyrim, and from the screenshot he posted, looks like he's using a different method, with .xwm file  Of course i tried turning that mod off in case it conflicted with my custom one.. but it still crashed :( Maybe the answer lies in this other mod, maybe we should ask the maker of this other mod how he did it?Anyway, i hope it helps! :) This guy has had this out on hte nexus for a while and it got took down for copyrighted content in the tracks (soundtracks for other games and films :P) He just replaces the original files with "enhanced" versions. This is why the XWM works for him. So I'll go through what i did again: load skyrim.esm and update.esmadd a new music track (name it what you like but make it findable)add your wav sound to it (must reside in the data/music folder)add any conditions. Copy them from another track if you wish, to get the same output such as day/nightopen an existing music type, and add it to the one that you want.save the pluginclose the ckrun whatever file manager you have and load the game with Skyrim.esm, Update.esm, YOURPLUGIN.esp, .....anyotherplugins..... (NOTHING BETWEEN the first 3)see if your tracks play. if you have any other esm's that you wish to load, then you need to create a dummy esp (with nothing in it) then copy it so you have as many as the amount of extra esm's that you want to load, and then when creating the music plugin, load these esp's after skyrim and update.esm and create your new plugin. this will push it down on the load order so it shouldnt crash when you use it in a different position to

I copied the condition from an other soundtrack that had "day" in it and it worked :) anyway, do what Alasdairhurst said, and it should work just fine  Edited February 19, 2012 by Kaboomx
Jedimindtrixxx
I tried this exactly how Alas described but mine still crashes. I even did the dummy esp's for the other ESMs I have. Is there maybe something else you guys subconsciously did without mentioning?
CptSupermrkt
Yeah, I'm still having zero luck with this. It just flat out doesn't work for me with any of the methods posted so far.
alasdairhurst
The problems you guys are having is crashes when playing a track right?
TheMegaMarah
The problems you guys are having is crashes when playing a track right? It seemed so, but I can replace an already existing track and it will play just fine. But when I add it, it crashes, even doing the load order thing. Kaboomx
hmmm.. then i dont know what the problem could be..I could put all the steps of how i did to make it work with screen shots if you want

Can you post your plugins list that you are using (including the music one) and also the list of dummy plugins that you are using (if applicable) please? ZombieBobie
Hmmz - trying this as well - getting assert when trying to make a .bsa if I've added a custom music track + music type. Assert File C:\_Skyrim\Code\TESV\BSResource\BSresource.cpp Line 1987Null name
ZombieBobie
Can get past the assert by cloning a combat-music file and leaving the "finale" option in. Then you can build the .bsa. Still CTDs in game though. I've tried packing a .xwm file as well in the .bsa, and also packing just the .xwm and not the .wav. No joy.
