buxbox
I now find Oblivion really boring, it doesn't even seem as if I have played it as much as some of you guys, I cant really mod it, as the computer which can run it isn't internet-ized.I don't mind starting a new character, I just need something NEW or engaging to do. As on most of my previous characters combined, I have done every faction and SI/KotN Any suggestions please? I recognize oblivion as a great game but I can't play it now without opening the map and hummig "what to do" "what to do"
stephanie
Download some good mods to a different computer, copy them to a cd, then copy them from the cd to your Oblivion computer. Install them. Ohh. borrow a blank cd to copy your downloads to from a friend and return it when you finish. Buy Shivering Isles. Install the construction set and make your own mod. Go on a random exploring trip. I've done that several times and always find something new to do .. Learn to use Blender and make your own meshes, then put a 'killer' mod together and upload it so everyone can use it. :)
MalachiDelacot
I'm having a blast, exploring and doing strange things. Quests often go on the wayside. Get crazy.Leathers is the preferred armor, and a bow as weapon. Silver arrows since according to folklore, the elven races could not abide the touch of iron. No sword, no dagger. Carry some food and a few bottles of ale since there are no water skins in the game. I shoot and run a lot. Yeah, lots of running. And more running. Did I say I run away from critters a lot? I get my ass kicked a lot of times and die. I do a lot of reloading. I often try encounters different ways to see how they go and often go out of my way to see what's on the other side of that rock. Sometimes it's treasure, sometimes it's sudden death. Doing strange things was mentioned.... If you look at the images gallery "Mine Now 2", I posted a picture of 13 horses I stole from Imperial Legion patrols. Took all the horses to the vacant space by the IC waterfront shack. It wasn't easy to get them all and not get caught a single time. But then, my character is built for speed and agility, not strength and smarts. Can't fight my way out of a paper bag, but I can steal the pants off you and be in the next county before you notice the draft. I use the mods that slow down time and level advancement, random critters, and recommend them. Very few mods that alter game play or give god abilities. Slow fall spell mod comes in very handy.I take lots of screen shots. Take a week or two break and play another game. I did recently....before I decided to go on the horse theft spree. That break really helped. Played Half LIfe....the first one. Didn't realize I'd totally forgotten the most ominous words ever spoken in a game: "They're waiting for you, Gordon.....in the test chamber." The break might help clear your head and get you ready for more. Don't give up on Oblivion. It's a great game, even in the plain vanilla mode. I'm going to close now since my character has this crazy urge to go fist fight a troll.
OnyxNightBlack
Not much to add, but I can see where you are coming from. Without mods I would have discarded the game a long time ago. You should really try to get some of the bigger quest and faction mods. They provide you with hours and hours of fun and sometimes lead to other interesting discoveries. Like Moszibby said, a break can be a good thing sometimes. A good alternative for some days/weeks is "The Witcher".
SGTBOB
Lol well this is precisely why im making a crysis armor moddevelopers take to long to release new content so just make itbut blender will truly turn me into a madman  but this is mainly because i dont have enough time to devote for all thier tutorials and learning progress is slow when i get off school for the summer then ill be in business  if only some person near me could just tutor me i would increase productivity tenfoldbut yeah some things you can do to give a short laugh is just go around and super dupe things(i do it all the time but thats cuz ive got a really fast computer q6600 quad with a 512mb GDDR4 graphics card :nuke: )nothing quete as humorous as getting chased by gaurds and then out of no where blocking the path with 1000 watermelons or filling some guys entire house to the brim with watermelonsbut that fun is short lived the problem is is without mods your game has a life expectancy. madman132
go here: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View...List&game=4 make a new Character and cheat. Then, cheat some more. Thats one of the first Things i did when i got bored in Obllivion. Resurrect NPCs, create NPCs at your Location (I have some Guy named "Uriel Septim" standing around in my Anvil House Basement) Buy all Houses, decorate all Houses.Get 100% Chameleon enchantment and spawn some Bandits, then some Marauders. Your own private Arena :D
