panzersharkcat
I was planning on using koutetsu's AER10v2 for the update to my overhaul mod. I would ask him for permissions but he's banned. I found his stuff here but Google Translate tells me somebody else uploaded it. Anyway, I'm uncertain about whether or not I can use them or not. Am I allowed to so long as I provide credit? Thank you.panzer Edited February 12, 2012 by panzersharkcat
rickerhk
If the readme doesn't specify that it can be freely used - then you need to get permission. The fact that it isn't even on the Nexus anymore would lead me to believe the author picked up his toys and went home - a strong indicator that using without permission would not go well. A user being banned does not even factor into the decision. You don't forfeit your property when banned.
panzersharkcat
The translated read-me says to contact him on the Nexus, which I can't really do because he got himself banned and everything of his deleted. I guess I'll have to pass on using it, then. EDIT: What about using the assets of somebody I tried to contact but hasn't responded in months? BlackRampage
EDIT: What about using the assets of somebody I tried to contact but hasn't responded in months? If it specifically states you need permission then that's that. No contact means no permission. Copyright still applies.
panzersharkcat
Hmm. Then several mods I've seen (not naming names) are in violation. I'll go delete the stuff from mine, then, and just stick to making a compatibility patch with those two mods. Thanks for the answers.
