Macrophobic
Most random NPC's spawn in green combat armor. I'm not sure about leather armor, I remember sometimes it was modded, like lead-lined, but paint is always basic, correct me if I'm wrong. But BoS knights wear faction-painted combat armors with BoS decals. I checked BoS leveled list and I couldn't find how it works. I want to make some group of NPCs use either treated leather armor or shadowed combat armor. The best would be if I could use Custom Combat Armors mod and a custom decal, then I could turn caravan guards, non-hostile gunners and mercenaries working for Cabott into Talon mercenaries, but right now I want to merge it with other clothing changes and make no references to mods other than AWCKR framework. Maybe I'll just stick with leather armor, cause I still don't get this palette thing, some tiny image (I have to zoom it to 500%) with some small, gradiented stripes, but all of them are brownish, there is no green. But it doesn't matter anyway if actors use default armor.
xYOURMAMAx
its an outfit, create your outfit section, throw in the amor/clothing you want, then save the outfitmake/edit an NPC, go to the inventory tab and set their outfit as the one you made, this will set their spawn outfit to that
Macrophobic
I don't think so, they would probably spawn in standard armors. I think I found the answer: on the leveled item list there's a dialog box "Filter Keywords Chances" and in most cases it's empty, but BoS combat armors have something like "if_tmp_material_0B_restricted" But I don't know about treated leather armors, maybe all leather armor pieces are supposed to be set to standard material. xYOURMAMAx
setting their outfit in the npc > inventory tab forces them to wear that outfit, thats what i used for my pirate mod, i made a copy of some raider boss (forgot the name) and then changed his clothes and looks based off of that, he always spawns in the outfit i selected search for outfit, make a copy of one, rename the ID and delete the other clothing items from it, keep that box open, go to the armor section then drag-drop those items into that outfit box, save it after you make your outfit and assign it to the npc of your choice, theres no chance theyll spawn in anything differently or anything standard, just make sure you edit the correct npc or make your own and place them in the world as for the BoS stuff i cant say that i know what that keyword means, but i know that changing their outfit works, in my work in progress part of my mod i have 3 npcs that i have set outfits to and they never wear anything differently Edited May 23, 2017 by xYOURMAMAx
Macrophobic
I know how to make simple changes, but I wanted to equip a new faction with black or dark grey armor. Can't be standard leather, cause it's brown, but shadowed will do, or shadowed combat armor, instead of green, cause this color is used by Gunners. Macrophobic
Thanks, but this is what I already know. You're talking about clothes, it's armor what I was asking about. All leather armor NPCs are wearing is brown, while I want some caravan guards or mercenaries wear shadowed or boiled version. And all combat armor is military green, no matter raiders, gunners or named characters, only BoS knights are using Brotherhood paint (which sucks by the way), but I'm not sure how it works. xYOURMAMAx
most clothes count as armor (red frock coat), so just replace the clothes that i used there with the armor you want
